The Rated-R Superstar Edge delivers a powerful promo ahead of his WWE Summerslam 2021 match

WWE Summerslam 2021 is just a few hours away and WWE concluded the build up to “The Biggest Party of the Summer” in the strongest way possible. The go-home episode of Smackdown aired just a night before Summerslam, and WWE ensured that every single match from the Blue-brand had enough heat, heading into the PPV.

One of the highlights of the latest episode of Smackdown was Edge’s promo. The Rated-R Superstar kicked off the episode while sitting on a chair, in the middle of the ring. He acknowledged Rollins’ promo from the previous week – where Rollins threatened Edge’s way of life, his wife and his kids. Something that he had done way back in 2014 too.

But Edge agreed that all of these were mind games and mind games are important. Despite knowing this, Seth Rollins managed to push Edge in a dark place, and Edge likes it. Seth helped Edge find a place in his heart where the blood ran black, and all of this will help Edge to break Seth. Edge announced to humble Rollins at WWE Summerslam 2021. Edge promised to BURN. HIM. DOWN.

Promos like these solidify the fact that Edge is a true legend of the business. With a signal promo – he not only gained enough momentum for the upcoming match but ensured that Seth Rollins benefitted from the promo too.

But the night did not just end there for Edge. Later during the show, Seth Rollins came out and mocked the Ultimate Opportunist for using every excuse in the book. He continued dissing Edge as a “You Suck” chant filled the arena. The arena suddenly went red and black, as The Brood’s theme played, with Edge appearing on the screen.

Edge asked Rollins to beware as the freaks come out at night. As he finished, black liquid dropped from the ceiling onto Rollins, which could inarguably be the highlight of the feud.

Is WWE hinting at a win for Edge at WWE Summerslam 2021?

Edge humiliated Rollins

While the final episode of Smackdown provided a massive boost to the Rollins-Edge match at WWE Summerslam 2021, it made Edge look much stronger than Rollins heading in to the event. With Edge bringing back his old gimmick and having clearly won the battle of the mind games, it seems like he will be picking up the win.

If this is the case, then Seth Rollins will have to wait longer to go after the Universal Championship because getting a title feud right after losing one feud will not only make him look but also weaken the Champion’s dominance. It remains to be seen whether Edge continues his gimmick on the PPV or it was just a one-off thing.
