Lynch and Lesnar returned at Summerslam
WWE Summerslam 2021 is officially in the books. The Biggest Party of the Summer delivered on the expectations of the WWE Universe and had some massive surprises in store. The event ran for 4 hours and some major announcements, unexpected Superstar returns and shocking title changes entertained the fans.
The Man Becky Lynch and The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar returned to WWE and made clear whom them are going after. Interestingly, Lynch managed to win the Smackdown title in a squash match of sorts, against the EST of WWE Bianca Belair.
During Summerslam, WWE also announced the next PPV – Extreme Rules, which will be airing on 26th September, 2021. In fact, WWE wasted no time in kicking off the feuds for their next PPV. Here is a list of feuds that kicked off at WWE Summerslam 2021.
#1 Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns
The main event of Summerslam, involved Roman Reigns pinning John Cena to win the Universal Championship. The two Superstars delivered a memorable bout, but the show was stolen by Brock Lesnar – who shocked the wrestling world with his return.
Brock Lenar, with his new look, returned in the final moments of Summerslam and had a stare down with Reigns. What makes this feud even more interesting is the involvement of Paul Heyman, who was earlier with Lesnar, but now is with Reigns!
#2 Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair
Lynch made his much-awaited return to WWE and participated in the match against Bianca Belair, which was initially slated to have Sasha Banks. But she was not cleared to compete and Lynch stepped up to the opportunity.
Becky Lynch challenged Belair, and surprisingly Lynch squashed Belair. In a matter of moments, Lynch pinned Belair and became the new Smackdown Women’s Champion. This sets up their feud for the Extreme Rules PPV.
#3 Eva Marie and Doudrop
This might be the most underwhelming feud of the three, considering the magnanimity of the other two. But the break up of Eva Marie and Doudrop was evident after Marie’s loss to Alexa Bliss at WWE Summerslam 2021.
Doudrop took the mic and celebrated Marie’s loss. She even took Marie’s robe and left with it, as Eva Marie stared shockingly.
More of these feuds are likely to begin during the fall-out episodes of the main roster shows.
