“One show left before the history making 1..2..3”: John Cena confident heading into WWE Summerslam 2021

WWE Summerslam 2021 is just one sleep away and the Universal Championship challenger is exuding confidence, heading into the “Biggest Party of the Summer”. John Cena made his much-awaited return to the company, especially for the event.
Initially, this feud seemed to be hurried, but it got a perfect build-up – which can be mainly credited to the two Superstars’ promo of the year last week on Smackdown. Reigns and Cena completely brought the house down with their promo which went places that the WWE Universe expected.
Roman Reigns and John Cena name-dropped Dean Ambrose, Nikki Bella and CM Punk in the sensational promo. Another aspect that Cena focused on was the fact that the only thing Cena needed to do was “1…2…3” to win the WWE Universal Championship.
Ahead of the go-home episode of Smackdown, Cena took to Twitter to show that he is quite confident heading into Summerslam. He even made a bold claim that the episode of Smackdown will be the last one with Reigns as the Universal Champion.
John Cena faces Roman Reigns at WWE Summerslam 2021
John Cena will be facing Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at WWE Summerslam 2021. He has been appearing daily on the WWE shows since returning at Money in the Bank – known as the “Summer of Cena”.
But one reason that the WWE Universe is unsure that Cena could win the title is the fact that he isn’t advertised to appear after Summerslam. Cena has himself mentioned on several occasions that he had a month off from his Hollywood projects and hence decided to return.
Unless all of this is a pre-planned major swerve, Reigns is guaranteed to retain the title. But on the other hand, Cena had even hinted that he could just take the title and leave, when he referenced CM Punk. Irrespective of the result, a blockbuster of a match and an event is on the cards with the top Superstars of the company all geared up to perform.
