WWE Summerslam rivalries: John Cena and Brock Lesnar

Cena and Lesnar
WWE Summerslam 2021 is just a little over a week away and the WWE Universe is probably more hyped up for a PPV event than they have been in a really long time. The excitement is justified considering massive stars like John Cena and Sasha Banks have returned for the event.
Regularly featuring Superstars Roman Reigns and Charlotte Flair are also announced to appear at the event. With only 4 matches announced so far for the event, Superstars like Randy Orton and AJ Styles are also expected to be a part of the card. Considering the match card, some memorable matches can be expected from the “Biggest Party of the Summer.”
One of the most iconic matches to have taken place on WWE Summerslam is undoubtedly the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Leader of Cenation, John Cena and The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar. The shock element of the match is what makes it one of the most iconic Summerslam matches.
The feud between Lesnar and Cena kicked off at Battleground, after Cena defeated Randy Orton, Kane and Roman Reigns to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Lesnar returned to WWE that night, and a match between the two Superstars was announced.
WWE Summerslam 2014: Brock Lesnar delivered 16 Suplexes

The match between the Leader of Cenation and The Beast Incarnate was billed as the “biggest fight of the summer.” While it was definitely the biggest fight of the year, many might argue whether it was the best one. One thing that this Summerslam bout definitely was – the most shocking WWE match that had been seen in a really long time.
WWE had been pushing Lesnar as the biggest monster of the company, but fans, and even the experts of the industry believed that the monstrous push would come to a halt, since he was facing John Cena. The Leader of Cenation has been the biggest Superstar for WWE, and it was expected that he would give a tough fight to Lesnar.
But WWE had a massive surprise in store for the fans because fans witnessed Lesnar’s sheer dominance at WWE Summerslam. He literally threw Cena around all over the ring! Lesnar hit suplex after suplex, barely giving time Cena to even breathe. Lesnar went into an all-out attack mode, right from the word go.
Usually as these matches go, WWE Universe waited for Cena to mount a comeback, but that moment never arrived. Probably for the first time the fans did not get to see a Cena comeback. He did hit an Attitude Adjustement once, but Lesnar kicked out.
This match managed to announce to the world that Lesnar was an indestructible force. In a nutshell, Lesnar finished the match with 16 German Suplexes and 2 F-5s.
