WWE Summerslam is over a month away, and WWE has already started announcing the card for the “The Biggest Party of the Summer”. With WWE Money in the Bank 2021 in the books, we are officially on the road to WWE Summerslam.
One of the faces that have been missing from WWE PPVs for quite some time now is of 14-time WWE World Champion Randy Orton. He has missed the last couple of WWE PPVs, but if her makes his PPV return at WWE Summerslam, it will be a record-breaking appearance.
Randy Orton currently has the second-most appearances at the PPV – 15. He is behind The Undertaker, who has 16 appearances, and Orton might tie with him, in case he is a part of the card this year. But his performance on the show has been below-par.
Out of 15 appearances, Orton has won on just 7 occasions, lost as many and 1 ended in a No – Result. Despite the record, former WWE World Champion Randy Orton has delivered some of the most iconic Summerslam matches.
Orton’s first ever Summerslam match was way back in 2003, which was an Elimination Chamber match and Orton ended up on the losing side. His final appearance, so far, was in 2020, when he lost to Drew McIntyre in a WWE Championship match.
Randy Orton might be a part of the WWE Summerslam 2021 card
Orton is one of the biggest Heels in the history of WWE. Despite the longevity of his career, he is still a full-time wrestler and continues to be a constant main-eventer. This year, we could see him return to WWE PPVs with a WWE Summerslam match, which could involve Riddle too.
Randy Orton and Riddle have formed an unlikely tag team on Raw, R-K-Bro. But considering Orton’s Heel character, it is only a matter of time before he turns on Riddle. But the Bro adores Orton and the backstabbing by Orton could form an interesting storyline.
WWE Summerslam airs live on 21st August, 2021.
