Winning an ESPY Award is considered one of the most prestigious achievements in any sport. The event is hosted by ESPN, which honors sports achievements from yesteryear. Athletes from various disciplines win every year and make headlines. WWE Superstars are no exception to this.
Since 2019, multiple top stars from the company, like Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Bianca Belair, and many others, have appeared at the ESPYS. The 2023 edition of the event was hosted by former color commentator Pat McAfee, and he was joined by Rollins and Lynch for the award-giving.
In 2020, the ESPY was not given to any superstar as the pandemic forced ESPN to not host an event. However, WWE Veteran Titus O’Neil was nominated for the Muhammed Ali Humanitarian Award for his work in the community.

Roman Reigns won the Best WWE Moment in 2019
Until 2019, WWE Superstars did not win any ESPY awards as they did not have a category for them. However, in 2019, they introduced a category called WWE Moment of The Year. WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns became the first superstar to win an ESPY. He won the award for the promo he cut when he announced that he was in remission and his leukemia was receding.
After coming back from the treatment, Reigns would go on to have one of the most iconic runs in WWE history. Roman Reigns emerged as one of the biggest stars of this generation. He has been the champion for almost three years. His feuds with multiple superstars have been highly acclaimed by fans and critics.
Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair won WWE Moment of The Year award in 2021
In 2021, Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair became the first women from WWE to win an ESPY. They won the Moment of The Year award for their match at WrestleMania 37. The two were also the first black women to headline WrestleMania as they closed Night One. Belair defeated Banks to win the Women’s Championship.
Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair were among the top superstars in WWE until Banks walked out last year. She now goes by Mercedes Mone and is under contract with NJPW. On the other hand, Bianca Belair continued to be in the Championship picture in WWE. She is also undefeated at WrestleMania, winning all her matches since 2021.
