“That’s what billionaires do”: When Vince McMahon dismissed $20 million like it was nothing

Mr. McMahon
In WWE, McMahon has been at the helm of affairs since the last 4 decades and has played a crucial role in making WWE the global brand that it is today. Today, WWE is estimated to be available in 900 million homes globally and in 28 languages. McMahon is the majority owner of the company with 37.6% ownership and 80.5% voting power!
As of 2021, Vince McMahon is estimated to have a net worth of $2.1 billion and earns $5.6 million annually from his position in the company. Considering the massive brand that he has built, it shouldn’t be surprising to guess that McMahon has an incredible amount at his disposal.
Freddie Prinze Jr. recently revealed an incident where the WWE CEO and Chairman dismissed a massive $20 million as absolutely nothing! He was speaking on the latest episode of the Wrestling with Freddie podcast. This was from the time when McMahon was actively investing in $5 million movies.
“I see Vince’s limo pull up. I walk straight up to Vince and say, before we get on the plane, you guys are making these $5 million movies. This guy is selling you scripts that would not sell in Hollywood. That’s four movies a year at $5 million apiece. He looks me dead in the face and goes, Freddie, it’s $20 million, get on the f**king plane,” mentioned Prinze Jr.
Vince McMahon has returned to WWE TV

A couple of years ago, the WWE CEO and Chairman used to regularly feature on WWE TV. But recent times he has been limited to sporadic appearances. In fact, in 2021, Vince McMahon was only seen a couple of times – while he welcomed the live audiences back to the live WWE shows like Wrestlemania 37 and Money in the Bank.
But a little while ago, Vince McMahon has once again resumed his weekly appearances. While one would expect him to appear in some high-profile segments, the boss chose to appear regularly with a fairly new talent on the main roster – Austin Theory. Seemingly, McMahon sees a lot of potential in the Superstar and is preparing him for the coming years.
