Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was recently added to the TKO Board of Directors. On Friday, The Great One seemingly took advantage of his power, sidelining Cody Rhodes to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Straightaway, fans criticized WWE CCO, Triple H, for his booking and bizarre decision-making. However, reports have suggested that the last-minute change wasn’t in the hands of Paul Levesque.

PWInsider has detailed how The Rock may have used his new position in TKO to replace Cody. According to the report, Endeavor officials supported the decision, believing it was the best way to make money now. Moreover, everything that has transpired over the last week or so has been a strategic move to give the Hollywood icon more power.

Therefore, it is safe to assume that The Rock overruled Triple H, with one source further claiming that even the CCO would “lose that power struggle.” Evidently, the TKO higher-ups value Dwayne’s opinion more than Hunter’s at this point. All in all, The People’s Champion currently has more administrative power than his former rival.

The King of Kings had supposedly planned Cody Rhodes’ coronation storyline to end at this year’s WrestleMania 40. In addition to the chaos, The Rock might’ve also pitched for himself to win against his cousin and become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. The match is likely to be made official at the upcoming press conference in Las Vegas on Thursday. It will be interesting to see how the fans react during the event.

WWE reportedly monitoring The Rock and Cody Rhodes situation

WWE has been at the center of headlines for the past few weeks. This peaked after SmackDown, when The Rock replaced Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania. The segment involving the announcement had become the most disliked video on its channel, and #WeWantCody has been trending on X ever since.

As per PWInsider, WWE is closely observing the fan reaction surrounding Cody, The Rock, and Roman Reigns. Therefore, The American Nightmare’s involvement in the Undisputed Title picture cannot be ruled out at all.

The 38-year-old can be added to the match, making it a triple threat, or The Great One can step aside and postpone the dream match for another time. As a result, the final decision seemingly lies in the hands of the TKO higher-ups, who might follow the fans’ choice to revert back to Cody’s story.
