WWE has been a standout means of sublime entertainment for their fans over the years. Back in the early 80s, Vince McMahon bought the company from his father James Vincent McMahon. Once gaining supreme control, the 77-year-old never looked back and transformed WWE into an untanned empire. Today, the promotion holds over 500 live events each year with a vast basket of unreal talent.
However, let’s jump into the numbers before wasting much time. According to data received in 2022, the market capitalization of WWE amounts to $4.89 billion. For the unversed, the Capitalization Value of any company is a useful barometer to measure the profitability of that asset. In 2019, the company procured massive television rights for its flagship shows, viz. Raw and SmackDown.
Their renewal periods are due in October 2023 and the promotion is currently pursuing a sale of their business. Vince McMahon, the Executive Chairman of WWE, wants to finalize the best deal for his company. There are multiple players in the bidding war, including Comcast, Endeavor, Disney, and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.
A recent report even claimed that The Khans, owners of All Elite Wrestling, are too interested in the matter. However, that’s never going to happen, thinking realistically. The rumor mill is churning various stories daily, but none of them have been absolutely accurate. At present, WWE is still considering all options, and it’s surely going to be a well-groomed process.
To this date, Vince McMahon remains the majority stakeholder in WWE. He owns 28.7 million shares, which comes out as 37.6% of the total allotment. His son Shane McMahon held a substantial portion of Class B shares long ago. Also, Linda McMahon holds 1% of the total Class B shares. Paul Levesque aka Triple H has 67,571 Class A shares under his name.

WWE is not changing creatively by any means
Despite the swirling rumors, Vince McMahon isn’t going to have a say in WWE’s creative process. Per Fightful, Triple H held a talent meeting ahead of last night’s SmackDown. The basic purpose behind that was to calm down everyone midst of the growing speculations over the last week.
Paul reiterated that Vince McMahon is back to facilitate a sale of WWE. As far as the creative department goes, Hunter has all the control. Although he’s open to suggestions from Mr. McMahon, the final say depends on the Cerebral Assassin. That’s pretty much a sigh of relief for everyone out there.
WWE is entering the most exciting phase of its calendar year with Royal Rumble and WrestleMania on the horizon. The company wants to ensure a record-breaking series of events heading into Los Angeles. As a matter of fact, WrestleMania 39 has already thrashed previous records after becoming the largest-selling gate in its history.
