“STUPENDOUS”: Wrestlemania 38 shatters records in India

Wrestlemania 38 is officially in the books. The event is considered to be the biggest event on the WWE calendar. Since the last couple of years, the event has gotten so big, that the company decided to make it into a 2-night event. Every year, fans from around the globe flow into the US to attend Wrestlemania.
This year, the Showcase of Immortals aired live from Dallas, Texas. The show had a combined attendance of over 150,000, across the two nights. Interestingly, Wrestlemania 38 went on to break several records over the weekend and it isn’t limited to the live attendance. It seems like the fans all across the globe were excited for the event this year.
As per the recent numbers as revealed by the Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) the event was a smash hit in India. The event garnered humongous eyeballs with 56.1 million viewers tuning in on the Sony Sports Network. Viewership took a massive jump of 29% over the numbers recorded last year. Night One saw a jump of 34% while Night Two jumped by 33%.
But this isn’t all. Super Bowl, which is considered to be the world’s biggest sporting event, was eclipsed by Wrestlemania 38’s social media performance this year. WWE even put out a tweet to show the dominance of Wrestlemania’s social media performance over Super Bowl LVI – in terms of:

- Video Views: WWE: 1.1 Billion vs Super Bowl: 618 Million

Wrestlemania 38 had a packed card
This year’s Showcase of Immortals had something to offer for every fan. On the first night, the WWE Universe was treated to the return of Cody Rhodes and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. There were two thunderous Women’s Championship matches and some hard-hitting encounters. Celebrities like Logan Paul and Johnny Knoxville were seen in action too.
The second night opened with Triple H. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin made his unadvertised appearance and if that wasn’t all, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon made his return to in-ring action in a match against Pat McAfee. Wrestlemania 38 closed with The Greatest Wrestlemania Main Event of All Time – and Roman Reigns becoming the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
