“If Roman Reigns wrestles Riddle, it’ll be on TV” – Radio anchor reports latest development on WWE Universal Champion’s return to in-ring action

Following the announcement that Roman Reigns has been taken from the Money in the Bank card, here’s another update on WWE’s plans for him.
Reigns was supposed to defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship title against Riddle at Money in the Bank in Las Vegas, which also happens to be Riddle’s hometown.
However, the show’s venue had been changed from Allegiant Stadium to a smaller capacity MGM Grand, and guess what, Reigns is no longer on the schedule.
WWE isn’t sure if they’ll do Roman Reigns vs. Riddle anymore, according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, but if they do, it won’t be a pay-per-view event.
The radio analyst stated, “If he wrestles Riddle, it’ll be on TV, it won’t be on pay-per-view. At least that’s the plan right now. The plan is still Orton for July 30 (SummerSlam). Obviously they were building up the Riddle and Reigns match on Monday, so I’m presuming they’re gonna do it, but I was told it would not be pay-per-view match if they do it, and it’s not 100% that they will.”
When will we see Roman Reigns in action again?
According to the previous schedule, Reigns’ upcoming opponents were Riddle at “Money in the Bank”, Randy Orton at “SummerSlam”, and Drew McIntyre at “Clash of the Castle”. However, as it appears, his first match is likely to see some changes, while the second and third encounter plans are still in place.
Back in May, reports came in that Roman Reigns had signed a new contract that would see him work a reduced schedule with fewer live events. Despite the new contract, he was set to fight on this month’s Hell in a Cell. Later, however, it was revealed that Reigns will no longer be appearing at HIAC.
