Taylor Swift and NFL have been a duo that has recurringly been on the news as of late. However, little do people know, it could have been Tennis. Entertainment producer Michael Fiur came forward on the ‘Served with Andy Roddick’ show with new information that has shocked the entire internet.
Taylor Swift could have been the face of Tennis were it not for Michael Fiur rejecting her in the 2003 edition of her performance at the court. Back in 2001 and 2002, she gave simultaneous performances singing the National Anthem at the US Open.
At the time, the country music singer was just beginning her career in the industry. Fiur revealed having received a proposal for her third straight appearance, which was declined because he thought it wouldn’t have worked in the New York demographic.

Understandably, the producer regrets the decision now. Taylor Swift’s influence in the NFL is undeniable. It boomed when the ‘Out of the woods’ singer started dating the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Ever since then, Swift has led the NFL to its highest regular-season viewership among women since 2000. Her presence at the stands has hauled her massive fan base to tune to the NFL screens, later finding a liking to the sport.
Per Apex Marketing group, Taylor Swift has generated $331.5 million for the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL. It doesn’t even stop there though. Recently, Swift also featured in the NFL hype video more than any other NFL player. The marketing move brought much criticism to NFL, but their strategy seemed to be working.
Taylor Swift back at the US Open
Taylor Swift’s connection with tennis didn’t end in 2003. Although not as involved, the pop singer returned to the US Open grounds, this time as a spectator. Swift was spotted with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, at the men’s singles final at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City.

The duo sported tennis-appropriate outfits as they cheered from the stands. Swift wore a red-and-white sundress, while Kelce opted for a white polo. Swift’s appearance comes during her break from the Eras Tour, which is set to resume in November.
Swift and Kelce were later joined by Kelce’s teammate and pal, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and his wife, Brittany Mahomes.
Although the four are good pals, their recent political interactions had subjected them to much controversy. This appearance was the first of them together ever since the rift rumors and the NFL season began.
