Red Bull may consider invoking an exit clause to release Sergio Perez, as his performance has not met expectations despite retaining his contract for two-years at the team. Yuki Tsunoda, currently driving for Red Bull’s sister team, is a potential replacement for Perez at their main team. However, he fears reserve driver Liam Lawson, who could potentially take Tsunoda’s seat at Red Bull following Perez’s departure.

During a recent interview Yuki Tsunoda shared his perspective on Red Bull’s second seat. Tsunoda believed it would be very weird if Red Bull chose the new zealander as a potential driver instead of him. Tsunoda acknowledged Liam Lawson’s strong performance in simulator sessions but highlighted that he believed he has contributed more to the team beyond just simulator work. He hinted at his confidence in Red Bull’s management to make the right decision regarding driver selections.

If they choose Liam, that would be weird. Liam did a really good job when he drove in the sim, but I think I did more than that. So, we'll see how it goes. They know how to manage the drivers.
