The Philadelphia Eagles will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII after beating the San Francisco 49ers. This will be the first Super Bowl in the history of the NFL to feature two Black starting quarterbacks. It also makes the first Super Bowl where two brothers – Jason and Travis Kelce will face each other on different teams.
The whole of America, along with fans in different parts of the world, will be tuning in to watch the Super Bowl in Arizona on February 12. But there is one particular person who won’t be watching the most intense battle of the season between two teams to win the coveted Lombardi Trophy and be crowned the World Champions – Nick Bosa.
Bosa was on the unfortunate 49ers’ side that collapsed in the NFC Championship game. San Francisco was on its fourth-string quarterback and was on the verge of calling in their emergency quarterback Kyle Juszczyk to the field, with both Brock Purdy and Josh Johnson being called off the field due to injuries.

Nick Bosa isn’t interested in knowing who wins Super Bowl LVII
“[Hurts is] strong … I was trying to pull him back, but yeah, he’s deceptively strong,” Nick Bosa told reporters Tuesday in the 49ers’ locker room. Bosa was asked who he thought would win the Super Bowl. “That will be a good battle that I will not be watching,” Bosa said with a poker face, which made all the reporters in the locker room laugh.
Nick Bosa, 25, has had a great season this year and is among the finalist to win the Defensive Players of the Year award. The former second-overall pick finished the regular season with 51 total tackles, and 48 quarterback hits and led the NFL in sacks with 18.5. The star edge rusher didn’t record a single sack in the postseason, but just his presence on the scrimmage line was enough for his teammates to benefit from it.
Bosa signed a 4-year $33.5 million rookie deal with the 49ers, which included a fifth-year option as well. He just completed the last year of his rookie contract and NFL pundits believe he is in a position to ask for a record-breaking contract extension from the team. However, Nick isn’t focused on getting big bucks. While talking with the reports in the locker room, Nick said that he is going to have patience and see where it goes. His agent is going to take care of it for him while he kicks back and enjoys the offseason.
Both head coach Kyle Shanahan and GM John Lynch are aware of the impact Nick Bosa has on the defense and will make sure that they keep him in San Francisco as long as they can. It’ll be interesting to see if the 49ers pay him more than Aaron Donald, who receives the highest annual salary for a defensive player at $31.6 million, or at least gives him more than his brother Joey Bosa who takes home $27 million per year.
