Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks was motionless after hitting his head during the Pittsburgh Steelers game on Thursday night at Acrisure Stadium. The crowd came to stand still, watching from the stands as medics did their best to help Burks.

With less than 2:30 minutes left on the clock in the fourth quarter, 4th and 4, Titans quarterback Will Levis launched one of his trademark long balls. The target was the on-rushing Treylon Burks, with Steelers cornerback Levi Wallace as the cover right next to him.

Bruks caught the ball but fell awkwardly as the back of his helmet hit the turf with great force. The 23-year-old stayed down as the medical team hurried to check on him. They removed his facemask and helmet as per the standard NFL protocol. Then strapped him up to a board and carted him away.

Will Levis said it was a terrifying experience.

It was tough. I mean, that’s scary. That’s the scary part of this game.

Treylon Burks’ injury update

For a couple of moments, the time appeared to stop after the unfortunate incident. No one wants to see a player go through such a horrifying experience. Fortunately, there’s good news, as the commentators could be heard mentioning that there was a movement from Treylon Burks. He put up a thumb to signal that he was conscious.

The result of the game was important for both sides, and the Titans lost 20-16. But it was not the talking point during the post-match press conference. Head coach Mike Vrabel gave an update on Burks’ condition.

The way it looked, I think that it’s probably better than how it looked. His alert and moving.

It was the second-year wideout’s third start of the 2023 season. Against the Steelers, he had two receptions for 23 yards before getting injured. His best performance came during the Los Angeles Chargers game, with 76 yards from three receptions.

Steelers drafted Treylon Burks as the 19th overall pick in 2022. He played 10 games, gained 425 yards, and scored one touchdown. In the 2023 offseason, during a joint practice session with the Minnesota Vikings, Burks caught a deep pass and landed on his knee, causing an LCL sprain. He had to sit out until the Indianapolis Colts game.

The Titans are now 3-5 after the defeat. With this new injury, Burks will most likely miss next week’s trip to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
