Red Bull has been the most dominant team in Formula 1 for the past two seasons. The team’s drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez combined have won an impressive total of 19 out of the 20 races so far this season. Following this dominant performance from the team, it is obvious that the team has faced some backlash over the dominance. So much so, that even Lewis Hamilton has called out the team in recent months

Mercedes dominated the constructor’s championship for a record seven years straight. The team won consecutive championships all the way from 2014 to 2020 and held a very big margin with the runner-up teams much like Red Bull in the past two years. Since 2021, Red Bull has been seriously contending with Mercedes for the top spot in the constructors standings.

Lewis Hamilton has been actively commenting on new developments at Red Bull. The Briton claimed that the dominance of RB19 this season was not healthy for the sport as it provided no margin for competition at the top spot. Now the Red Bull boss Christian Horner has bashed Hamilton over this comment.

In a recent podcast of ‘Eff won with DRS’, Horner opened up more about his thoughts and recalled Hamilton of the Mercedes’ dominant seven-year stint. The boss said that Hamilton has got ‘selective memory’. Additionally, he claimed that Hamilton should be the last person to comment on this kind of news in the sport. Horner also called the Mercedes’ dominance as ‘obscene’ at times in that period.

I feel like he’s got selective memory. Some of the winning that they did in that period was just obscene. We’ve had a good run for a couple of years, but the one guy that shouldn’t be saying that, I would think, is Lewis.
