Lando Norris had an incredible 2023 season, scoring seven podiums, six of them being second place. The Briton finished sixth in the Championship after a terrible start for the McLaren team and shared two podiums with his teammate Oscar Piastri. However, Norris could not win a single race throughout the Red Bull-dominated season.

The McLaren driver equaled the record for most podium finishes without a race win at 13. Norris has said he wants to change this statistic and win a race in 2024, driving for his longtime squad McLaren. The senior McLaren driver has also claimed that the 2024 McLaren car will be a challenger to Red Bull.

Lando Norris has had a few opportunities to win in 2023 but was foiled by Carlos Sainz in Singapore and Max Verstappen on multiple other occasions. The 23-year-old’s first opportunity for a win came in Sochi 2021, but a failed tire strategy cost him victory.

Lando Norris hails team principal Andrea Stella for 2023 comeback

McLaren made a humongous comeback in the 2023 season, climbing from the bottom to competing at the top level after bringing extremely major upgrades in Austria. After failing to proceed from Q1 in the early part of the season, McLaren managed to get two double podiums and a sprint win in the second half.

Lando Norris wanted to appreciate one person in particular for the success the team experienced. Team Principal Andrea Stella was commended by Norris for Stella’s managerial skill. Norris called Stella the “producer of the set” and said he could not ask for a better team principal than him.

Andrea is just the director of it all. He’s the producer of the set and everyone else is the cast, but you need everyone to work together very well. and that’s what they’re doing. I couldn’t ask for a better team principal.

Andrea Stella was a recent hire for the team after the departure of Andreas Seidl from the team. Stella has overseen the progress of McLaren and has led to confidence being instilled in the crew. Most notably, Lando Norris is confident of a good vehicle to compete with next year.
