LeBron James has something special for Boston voter who stopped him from becoming ‘first unanimous MVP’
James stated that he could have been the league’s first-ever unanimous MVP had he gotten all 120 votes.

LeBron James
LeBron James is among the select few to have won the highest individual accolade as an NBA player, the league’s MVP, having won it on four occasions. However, he recently revealed his frustrations on a recent episode of ‘The Shop’ about being robbed of the chance to become the first unanimous NBA MVP.
James stated he could have been the league’s first-ever unanimous MVP had he gotten all 120 votes; instead, he received one less vote, 119. The vote had gone to Carmelo Anthony, who refused to disclose the name of the solitary voter who chose Anthony.
Yeah, I know. There was one vote, and he voted for Carmelo. It was a writer from Boston, of course. I know his name too, but I ain’t gonna give him that light just yet.LeBron James said
Unfortunately, that prestigious honor had gone to rival and Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry, who clinched the award in the 2025-2016 season. That season, ‘The Baby Faced Assassin’ had led the league in scoring and the Dubs to a 73-9 regular season record.
LeBron James not being the first unanimous MVP irked him as his 2013-2013 Miami Heat season was worthy of that honor. That season, he led the Heat to a 27-game winning streak, the longest in the league (at the time).
LeBron James admits to not being 100% fit for Nuggets clash
The Los Angeles Lakers are billed to face the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets, in a game that is predicted to be a revenge match for the LA Lakers. Although James isn’t in the running for MVP, the game is seen as an opportunity for him to change minds over his GOAT status, but he recently claimed not to be at a 100% optimal performance.
I'm in a much better rhythm physically, emotionally, all that. Coming into the series this year, compared to the Western Conference Finals last year, I was extremely banged up... but I feel better than I did last year. I'm not a 100; I don't think anyone is a 100 right now.LeBron James said
Last season, James struggled with injuries, and when he was available, he wasn’t available to help the Purple and Gold as the Nuggets eventually swept them away.
However, with the King and Anthony Davis firing on all cylinders coupled with the tactical tweak from Coach Darvin Ham, who has rallied the troops, then fans should expect a thrilling encounter. Who knows, he might eventually forget about the Boston reporter snub if he leads the Lakers to another NBA crown.
