Disappointed Donald Trump wants NFL teams to stop Shedeur Sanders from going undrafted
Shedeur Sanders went undrafted on day one, the first round of the draft, which perplexed USA President Donald Trump. He wants NFL teams to select the generational talent as early as possible.

The news of Shedeur Sanders going undrafted on Day 1 of the 2025 NFL draft reached the White House. Donald Trump isn’t pleased with the NFL team’s passing on a generational talent.
Sanders, along with Colorado teammate Travis Hunter, was initially a top-two pick on day one. His draft stock began to decline after the NFL Combine in February.
There were teams still in the mix at drafting the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year recipient. Shedeur fans banked on the New Orleans Saints at 9th overall and the Pittsburgh Steelers at 21st to take the young, talented quarterback.
However, the NFL teams deemed that Sanders wasn’t worthy of being drafted in the first round. Sanders’ remaining undrafted status raised several questions about the draft process itself. The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, shared his views.
What is wrong with NFL owners? Are they stupid? Deion Sanders was a great college football player and was even greater in the NFL. He’s also a very good coach, streetwise and smart! Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son has phenomenal genes and is all set for greatness. He should be picked immediately by a team that wants to win. Good luck Shedeur and say hello to your wonderful father.

Shedeur’s father and Hall of Famer Deion Sanders watched the draft from home. A mild shake of the head from Coach Prime reflected his disappointment after the Saints passed on him.

Meanwhile, Hunter, the new Jacksonville Jaguars WR/CB, watched the draft from the press room. His eyes lit up when the Saints were on the clock. Hunter genuinely thought the franchise from NOLA would take his former quarterback.
I was hoping that was Shedeur.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell didn’t call out Sanders’ name until pick 25 flashed on the board. The Giants traded back up to the first round. Brian Daboll and Joe Schone submitted their request to Goodell to draft their second player on the night. The Giants drafted Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart.
Sanders went undrafted because the remaining teams weren’t interested in drafting a quarterback. It was a kick-in-the-gut moment for Sanders and his family.
Expert revealed the reason behind Shedeur Sanders going undrafted on day one
A few hours before the start of the second round, college game expert Pete Thamel was on SportsCenter to recap day one draft picks. Thamel revealed speaking with teams about Sanders after day one ended.

I talked to about half a dozen teams… They just thought [Shedeur Sanders] wasn’t a first-round talent and a first-round player. They wanted to see him more throwing in rhythm, they wanted to see him show a little bit more athleticism. He’s considered a mediocre athlete who didn’t have enough film that they thought immediately translated.

Sanders can easily be taken in the second round. The Cleveland Browns own three early draft picks, which they can use to select their future franchise quarterback.
However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter claimed he wouldn’t be surprised if Sanders falls to the third round.
I think there are not a lot of teams that love the idea of drafting Shedeur. We are now at a point that unless he goes in the third round, number 83 to the Pittsburgh Steelers who had a discussion about him on the board at number 21, I think we may get a team that we never connected to him.
Adam Schefter said
Schefter mentioned the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals. He also dropped a wild card that made Marcus Spears hold his head in his hands.
Hold on to your head [Marcus Spears] the Dallas Cowboys. I am not telling any of these teams to take him but what I am saying is that it will not surprise me if all of a sudden the team that takes him tonight is a team that we just didn’t even connect him to.

Shedeur to the Seahawks, Cardinals or Cowboys???

Adam Schefter on Shedeur Sanders right NOW:
"the Giants obviously prefer Jaxson Dart. I think the Browns preferred Jaxson Dart. I think the Saints absolutely preferred Jaxson Dart.

Day 2 is bound to bring a few surprises. If Schefter’s hypothesis is correct, Sanders’ camp is in for a long ride.
