Oscar Piastri emerged as a real contender for the 2025 Formula 1 world title with McLaren. The Australian driver has had an incredible run so far this season with four wins in seven races. However, the 24-year-old faced a setback at the Emilia Romagna GP last weekend as Max Verstappen claimed victory. Now, Piastri has asserted that he will come back stronger in Monaco.
Formula 1 heads to the streets of Monte Carlo this weekend for the prestigious Monaco GP. The track is focused around the aerodynamic packages of cars, with power playing a secondary role. McLaren, who arguably have the better car this season, will likely have an advantage against Max Verstappen and Red Bull.
Oscar Piastri recalled that he has had good runs in Monaco throughout his racing career. The McLaren star looks forward to driving in the streets of Monte Carlo every year. Now, Oscar Piastri made it clear that he remains hungry and determined as ever to make a mark this year. Moreover, Piastri insisted that he was ready for whatever challenge this race could bring.
Monaco was a really positive weekend for me last year and it is a track on which I have obtained good results during my youth career. It is always one of the highlights of the calendar and I present myself to this race determined, hungry and fully focused on the unique challenge that the famous streets of Monaco pose.

The 24-year-old would be hoping that he has an edge over Verstappen this weekend. While Max Verstappen only sits on third in the standings right now, another positive result could give the Dutchman some much-needed momentum.
Lando Norris ‘working hard’ with McLaren
Oscar Piastri’s impressive 2025 campaign has overshadowed Lando Norris. Norris, who was previously believed to be the favorite for the title, has struggled to match his younger teammate so far. Albeit, the Briton does have one win to his name, and even managed to outperform Piastri at Imola. Yet, there is a lot left to do if Norris truly wants to be in the mix for the championship.

Lando Norris was thrilled to be heading for Monaco this weekend, a track which has given him some fond memories. The 25-year-old revealed that he was continuing to work hard with McLaren ahead of the race, in a bid to maximize performance. However, it will be interesting to see if the efforts bear fruit for the British driver.
I am very excited to be in Monaco this weekend. Over the years he has seen many special moments, so it’s always nice to run here. I continued to work hard with the team in view of this weekend to put us in the best possible conditions to take advantage of the positive results of the last appointments.

Certainly, both Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are aware about the challenge of the Monaco GP. Drivers simply have no margin for error at this iconic street circuit. Even a single mistake could end one’s race. As such, Piastri and Norris will be looking to fight for victory while trying to stay within the limits and avoiding on-track clashes.
