Since the start of the Next-Gen era Trackhouse Racing’s Ross Chastain has been one the front runners of the sport. But in some occasions, he has also been the villain owing to his over aggressive racing style. One of these beefs was with Joe Gibbs Racing Denny Hamlin, and the rivalry was one of the biggest story lines over the last two seasons.

After multiple run-ins and cold comments in the media, the duo decided to take the highroad and talk things through. In the absence of Ross Chastain, another driver has taken over the role of ‘mini-intimidator’ and ironically, it’s Carson Hocevar, who is mentored by the Trackhouse veteran. Now Denny Hamlin has shared some advice to the spire Motorsports racer.

Talking about Hocevar’s recent run-ins at Nashville and the controversy around it, Denny Hamlin asserted that if the youngster does anything egregious to him, there will be big payback. The veteran admitted that the retaliation won’t be just for, but for the rest of the grid as well as a lot of racers have let his antics slide in the last two season.

Carson hasn’t done anything to me yet that has been egregious, but I guarantee you, I will get him if he does. I’m going to get him, because he has gotten a lot of people and they haven’t done anything about it.

Denny Hamlin said on Actions Detrimental.

He then recalled his rivalry with Ross Chastain, and how he got back at him, but stopped doing it after some time, as both of them were getting hurt because of it. Hamlin admitted that he didn’t do enough in retaliation, but what he didn’t was enough to force a meaningful conversation and end the madness for good. Rick Hendrick clipping the wings of Chastain due to run-in with HMS drivers also played a significant role in the dynamic change.

We saw with Ross, eventually I was like, ‘Oh, I’m done screwing around with this guy. I’m going to have to do something,’ and even to this day, I feel like I didn’t do enough. But it was it was enough to get the point across, and it was enough to then get some meaningful dialogue between us to where I’m like, ‘Man, where are we at? How can we when’s this going to stop?

Denny Hamlin reminds Carson Hocevar that Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is coming to wreck him

In the same podcast, earlier Denny Hamlin gave a reminder to the No:77 Chevy driver. He pointed out that, since Stenhouse Jr. is a driver that is infamous for getting back at his rivals when he feels wronged, also being someone that act after considering the noise around him, a big retaliation is coming for them in the near future.

He’s going to hear, ‘Are you going to get him?’ And you know, he’ll just suddenly — he’ll make sure you know, if you’re Carson, just know that it’s coming. So don’t be surprised. … It’s coming. There’s nothing I’m more confident of right now, other than Jordan having a baby, than Ricky wrecking Carson. I just feel as though that’s inevitable.

The comments from Denny Hamlin are on point considering the recent past of the Hayk Motorsports driver, that includes the fist fight with Kyle Busch last season. It would be interesting to see if the beef between the two racers will evolve into rivalry storyline in the near future.
