Amid health struggles and some $40-50k on procedures, Jake Paul calls on Dana White to help ex-fighter Ben Askren for lung transplant.

Despite another victory, if not an all-around dominant finish, mainstream boxing lovers are still divided on Jake Paul and his involvement in the sport. However, his post-fight plea regarding one Ben Askren has won over quite a few minds. That’s not where the buck stops; after his recent boxing result, Paul also called upon UFC CEO and headman Dana White to help out with the situation.

The ex-UFC legend and former Bellator and ONE FC titleholder has been battling a severe case of pneumonia due to a previous staph infection. While he does not actively hit the mat anymore (reason for a solicited touch-effective Staphylococcus gram-positive bacteria), he does hit the mat as a wrestling coach and in advisory standards. He previously also helped out WMMA standout Maycee Barber.

Other than that, much like the “Good Guy/Bad Guy” Show with ESPN Co-host Chael Sonnen, ‘Funky’ co-hosts the “Funky and the Champ” MMA analysis show with Daniel Cormier. However, Ben Askren remains a legend that he was and has the attention of the combat punter, and recently Cormier reported he is doing better and responding.

However, he’d need all the help he could muster and ‘thorn’ in sight ‘Problem Child’ Jake Paul has called on Dana White to help with funding for his former fighter:

It’s just insane and insurance is a fu*king scam — And it’s so sad. Right when you need these companies they’re not there and it’s fu*ked up and his insurance denied him to get the double lung transplant — which is also one of the most expensive surgeries which is why they denied it…I was obviously super busy this week so we’re figuring out the donation now, but none of these people like Dana…Or any of these people are stepping in so I feel like I have to do something and that’s really all it is.

Jake Paul to Bloody Elbow media scrum in his post-fight press conference

Team Roufusport MMA’s Funky was recovering, but lost the funk as he needs a double lung transplant. It is one of the highest money-bidding surgical procedures in America. Nonetheless, reports indicate that his insurance company has denied his claim, leaving him to bear the financial burden himself.

Later, his wife Amy Askren reaffirmed that despite being on the transplant list, it’s been tough. Consequently, a donation campaign has been initiated on Help Hope Live, with the boxer, who faced him in 2021, pledging his support, along with his brother Logan Paul.

While Paul has gone to the gallows calling on Dana White’s MMA monopoly and set-in-stone cheap-stake $50k post-fight performance bonuses, it’s also true that White has reportedly helped fighters. Despite their animosity, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson said Dana White helped him; the bossman paid for King Green’s brother’s funeral proceedings, and the convicted Cain Velasquez revealed he also posted $1M bail for him for his road rage case.

So, if there is a chance that White and UFC brass can pony up to the cause for Ben Askren, it’d be a good thing too. Paul also made a plea about it in his post-fight speech recently.

Jake Paul made an emotional plea to help Ben Askren in post-fight speech after win over Julio César Chávez Jr.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer and now pro pugilist defeated former middleweight world champ Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in one of his stiffest tests yet. While he survived a late flurry from the 61-fight veteran, the crowd mostly booed him as a pro-Chavez stand; the Mexican population in Anaheim goes hard by far.

Hence, a 13-fight pugilist and a Mike Tyson decimator in MVP’s Netflix-theme fight, the ever-growing Jake Paul quickly turned heel to ‘boo’ back to the California crowd. However, after a while, Paul turned intense and reserved some space for the topic of Ben Askren.

Despite their participation in the 2021 competition and a stingy beef, the relationship between Paul and Askren remained strained. However, when the erstwhile MMA legend’s health status became known earlier this month, he was swift to extend his assistance.

Say a prayer for Ben Askren and for his family…We all need to support him. Everyone should go donate to him…

Jake Paul said post-fight in the ring

On June 25, FloWrestling’s Mark Bader shared a shocking update about his friend in a video, with Askren not receiving lung transplant. Hence, Jake Paul made a plea to the crowd to help out if they could.

A big donation was vowed to be made by Paul in his post-fight speech, with Ariel Helwani being told that money would be put by him and brother Logan Paul. They also wished the Askren family well before the fight, during open workouts.
