The 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season so far has been a dream come true for Spire Motorsports’ Carson Hocevar. He secured his maiden win in the elite division at the iconic Talladega Motor Speedway in a close finish and has found himself in the running to win the championship with the No:77 team.

Though it’s a long-shot, it is still a possibility and the youngster talked about it in the recent episode of the Happy Hour podcast with 2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick. The Chevy driver admitted that the 10-race chase features some of his favorite tracks and the arrogant side of his team sees a shot for them to come out victorious.

I mean, it’s all good tracks in the Chase. If we could stay, if we can stay where we’re at or get higher in points, I’m not going to say it’s realistic, but I don’t think any of us would be shocked. It would be an eternal, you know, kind of confidence, maybe a little arrogance of us.

Carson Hocevar told Kevin Harvick.

Further talking about the point to Kevin Harvick, the star driver highlighted how Spire is working behind the scene to field better cars. The crew is doing everything they can to secure more race wins and potentially the championship. Hence, they won’t be shocked, unlike the rest of the garage, about potentially winning the Bill France Cup.

We can keep rolling how we are and keep getting better and the progression keeps you know I don’t think we might shock the world but none of us would be shocked.

Did Carson Hocevar meet Sabrina Carpenter at Met Gala?

Carson Hocevar was busy this week with his Met Gala appearance, making him the first racer since Jeff Gordon in 2010 to attend the big event. He was asked about potentially meeting Sabrina Carpenter, something he mentioned about during his red-carpet interview, ahead of the Truck race at Watkins Glen. He ignored the question and shifted focus to the race.

I’m just excited about my truck. I’m excited to be here Watkins glen I got to enjoy three days of sitting in the rain in a dirt race and we finally got to run one and I miss the show.

Carson Hocevar said.

The star driver also didn’t hesitate to take a shot at fellow Cup drover Connor Zilisch, who was also driving the in the third division event. He mocked himself for losing the qualifying to the young Trackhouse Racing rookie.

I didn’t run very good. So I came back to this NASCAR thing… I’m not too terribly slow, but the 12 year old over there is faster than me. So I gotta figure that part out. But yeah, I’m excited about it.

Carson Hocevar added.

The comments from the veteran shows the hilarious and authentic side of the racer that makes the fans love him. He has proved on and off the track, how he is capable of being the new face of the sport. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the young racer in the coming days.
