The NASCAR community came together to pay their respect for Kyle Busch last Sunday ahead of the Coca Cola 600 and during the tribute the community witnessed one of the most emotional moments the sports has ever seen. Reigning champion Kyle Larson’s son Owen Larson walked up to Brexton Busch and gave him a hug.
The NASCAR champion’s sons are of the same age and they grew up together in the garage. It was a moment that showcased the brotherly bond that defines the sport. Talking about the moment on his recent interview, the HMS admitted that he is a really proud father as he didn’t expect the 11-year-old to understand the pain and emotions over losing someone close.
When Owen walked over there to put his arm around Brexton, that made me obviously very, very proud of him, and to see the emotion on Owen’s face when he came back over was also a proud moment because you don’t know how an 11-year-old is going to kind of grasp the situation and understand what has happened and the pain that they’re going through.
Kyle Larson told Entertainment Tonight.
The two times Cup Series champion Kyle Larson then shifted his focus to Kyle Busch’s oldest son Brexton Busch, who showed a lot of Character as he stood beside his mother Samantha Busch and sister Lennix during the tough moments. Watching the strength shown by the youngster was comforting for everyone in the community including the HMS racer.
I was also very proud of Brexton and how he was staying strong right then, you could tell. It gave my heart a lot of comfort.
Kyle Larson added.
Kyle Larson expects Brexton Busch to make it into Cup Series
Further talking on the interview, the veteran was asked about the potential racing future that is ahead of Brexton Busch. Larson is already impressed with how good racer the teenager already is and has no doubt he would one day make it the premier division, expanding the Busch family legacy.

Yeah, I think that was his ultimate sort of goal, is what it seemed like. He’s raised Brexton to be an amazing race car driver, so there’s no doubt in my mind that Brexton will make it to the Cup Series someday and hopefully accomplish all the things that his dad has been able to, if not more.
Kyle Larson said.
The investment Kyle Busch has so far made into his sons racing future have been on point and his result in the lower divisions are clear sign of it. That’s the reason why he is considered by many, including Larson, the best racer of his age group.
Brexton is probably the best 11-year-old that there is doing the racing that he’s doing right now, and I know he’ll make Kyle very proud along the way.
Kyle Larson added.
Not having Kyle Busch to guide him would be a massive struggle for the youngster, but there are a lot of people in the community ready to step up for Brexton, starting with his uncle Kurt Busch, the 2004 Cup champion. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the racer in the coming years.
