Cody Rhodes Comments on if The Rock Is Still Pursuing His Soul
Cody Rhodes has cleared the air on whether he will face The Rock at a major PLE in the future to settle their feud once and for all.

Cody Rhodes stopped by ESPN‘s Get Up before heading off to Turin for Clash in Italy. ‘The American Nightmare’ was informed that New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns recently shared on Instagram that he’d acquired a 1/1 Cody Rhodes trading card that had “He wanted my soul!?” written on it.
Rhodes knew it was an extremely rare card that Towns had secured and added it was in reference to The Rock asking for The QB1’s soul last year. Rhodes said he didn’t know if ‘The Final Boss’ was still after it or not, as he shows up whenever he wants to. Speaking of which, ‘The Great One’ hasn’t appeared on WWE television since the 2025 Elimination Chamber PLE in Toronto.

The Rock orchestrated John Cena‘s heel turn at the PLE and eventually dropped out of the storyline. It sparked intense backlash among the fans that were expecting some sort of payoff to Rock demanding Rhodes’ soul and the Moana actor instead getting profanity hurled at him. ‘The Brahma Bull’ avenged it on the spot as Cena sold out to him in one of the most shocking WWE moments of all time.
Singer-rapper Travis Scott was also involved in that segment, and even he got his hands dirty on a defenseless Cody Rhodes. The aftermath of that angle saw Rock and Scott disappear from the storyline with no explanation. Turning the clock back to Raw after WrestleMania 40, the Smashing Machine actor told ‘The American Nightmare’ that their story had just begun.
It appeared to many that it was the premise to Rock vs. Rhodes at WrestleMania the following year, in ’25. However, it never happened with the Hollywood mogul having a lot on his plate in terms of his filming commitments. At this point, it wouldn’t be hyperbole to say that their once-certain match doesn’t bode well for the future, as that ship has likely sailed. As Rhodes said above, Rock shows up on his time.
Danhausen hailed as “king of the merch game” by Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes isn’t shying from acknowledging the fever of Danhausen in WWE. The latter has found his footing in the company as one of the most popular stars across the board. Acknowledging his accolades on ESPN‘s Unsportsmanlike, Rhodes revealed that Danhausen is a part of that crew that does 8x10s early in the day of WWE shows.

‘The Prodigal Son’ has had a couple of instances of sitting side by side with Danhausen for signing those stacks. The former AEW EVP knew it was obvious that Danhausen is one of the most popular figures in WWE today, and he doesn’t see it waning. The erstwhile Stardust hailed the curse-imposing star as the king of the merch game by noting that he’s beating everyone in that department.

The man who claims to be very nice and very evil recently wrestled his first match at a WWE premium live event at Backlash, where he and his army of mini-hausens defeated The Miz and Kit Wilson. WWE president Nick Khan and WWE CCO Triple H recently praised Danhausen at a town hall meeting, where they showed clips of him to illustrate how popular he had gotten in merely a couple of months into his debut.
In an incredible feat, Danhausen was reported to have sold the third-most in-stadium merchandise items at this year’s WrestleMania, only next to CM Punk and Cody Rhodes. Danhausen wasn’t even in a match at WWE’s grandest spectacle in Vegas while Punk and Rhodes were the respective main eventers across two nights.
