Danhausen had his first WrestleMania moment this year, and the show ended up being yet another gargantuan financial success for WWE. Is it a coincidence? Despite the noise surrounding its uncalled-for celebrity involvement from head to toe, the fans were treated to an all-time classic between Roman Reigns and CM Punk, which many believe was the saving grace for this year’s Mania.
The WrestleMania host, John Cena, was involved in a well-received segment with Danhausen on Sunday. It also featured The Miz and Kit Wilson, and they were hilariously embarrassed by mini Danhausens. The man who claims to be very nice, very evil, has now emerged to be a top-3 in-stadium merchandise seller for WWE in his WrestleMania debut.
As per a report from Fightful Select, CM Punk topped the list, followed by Cody Rhodes in the second spot, and Danhausen in the third. While one would expect Punk and Rhodes to do exceptionally well in terms of moving their merchandise, someone like Danhausen, who didn’t even wrestle on either night and still managed to make it to that elite company, is incredible on so many levels.

But that’s how Danhausen has been since coming to WWE. After debuting to a lukewarm reception in Chicago at the Elimination Chamber, every single one of his on-screen appearances has entertained the fans. They also believe that a character like his fits like a glove in WWE.
CM Punk was asked about his thoughts on Danhausen and how he’s faring so far in WWE. Speaking to ESPN Unsportsmanlike prior to WrestleMania, the ‘Best in the World’ stressed that his impact has yet to be felt. Punk called him perfect for the company they’re working in based on how it has historically molded its product around.

The former World Heavyweight Champion called him a throwback, a bit of a gimmick, but very entertaining. After having praised him that much, Punk hoped that Danhausen wouldn’t curse him. For the unversed, they are pretty good friends in real life, and it’s believed that Punk played a pivotal role in getting Danhausen to WWE.
Paige and Stephanie McMahon raved about Danhausen getting over in such a short span of time in WWE
Paige was the biggest surprise of the WrestleMania 42 weekend. She made her iconic return to WWE to sub in for an injured Nikki Bella and went on to win the women’s tag team gold with Brie Bella. ‘The Anti-Diva’ later joined Stephanie McMahon on her What’s Your Story? podcast to talk about her comeback at length, where she also discussed the two conditions that Nick Khan put in front of her for agreeing to her WWE return.

Apart from that, Paige and McMahon went back and forth over their amazement of Danhausen. The British wrestler said she’s glad that the fans got behind him rather quickly. ‘Steph’ would respond by saying that the audience couldn’t figure out why WWE was making such a big deal out of Danhausen in the beginning.
Paige and Stephanie McMahon praise Danhausen:

Paige: “I’m glad that the fans came around really quickly.”
Stephanie: “I think they just didn't know at first, or why we were doing it. And now it's like, because he's really good. And he's got this crazy charisma… and then to see… pic.twitter.com/UlCxQ8urNl
But as some time passed, they understood it and jumped on the bandwagon. The newly inducted WWE Hall of Famer hailed Danhausen for his undeniable charisma. Paige stated that Michigan native could really go in the ring as well and added that the fans will realize that once he starts wrestling more often.

This past Friday on SmackDown, Danhausen defeated The Miz to make it 2-0 in singles matches in WWE. The post-match scenes saw the 35-year-old make Miz chase him in a cat-and-mouse race that was a legit funny stretch of television. ‘The A-Lister’ inadvertently took out his aide Wilson while chasing Danhausen, who escaped in his coffin-shaped car, leaving Miz in shambles.
