WWE has released several stars as part of its annual post-WrestleMania budget cuts. It’s been happening for quite some years now. Out of everyone who has been axed, the likes of Kairi Sane, Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, and the entire Wyatt Sicks faction making the cut have appalled the fans. They were regularly featured on WWE programming, and the fans didn’t see their releases coming at all.

Take, for instance, Kairi Sane was being prominently used alongside Asuka on Raw, and they even had a tag team match against Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky on Raw after WrestleMania 42. Sky was actively trying to free Sane from the clutches of Asuka. That storyline will now be at the mercy of Asuka and Sky delivering the goods through their in-ring prowess should WWE blow off their beef with a singles match.

Also, with the company firing Bo Dallas (aka Uncle Howdy), Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, Erick Rowan, and Nikki Cross, that essentially means the end of the Wyatt Sicks faction, which was minted to honor the legacy of the late Bray Wyatt. Moreover, one of the best tag teams that WWE had on tap, the Motor City Machine Guns, has also been let go.

All other remaining names that have gotten the sack are Santos Escobar, Apollo Crews, Zoey Stark, Alba Fyre, and NXT’s Andre Chase. Some of the other WWE Evolve and NXT talent, viz., Tyra Mae Steele, Sirena Linton, Tyson DuPont, Tyriek Igwe, Chris Island, Malik Blade, Trill London, and Luca Crusifino, have also been let go.

Cory Hays of BodySlam noted that the outgoing names were informed about their terminations by TKO. Shortly after this week’s SmackDown, the WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley posted about her friends and comrades that departed the company. ‘The Eradicator’ was gutted about it and called it the worst time of the year. She advocated for her former colleagues to thrive wherever they go next and prove their doubters wrong.

Vince Russo goes off on WWE for dropping the ball with the Wyatt Sicks

Former WWE lead writer Vince Russo went off on the Stamford-based promotion owing to the company mass firing its talent, especially the Wyatts. Russo posted on X that he wished WWE would hire him back in the most sarcastic way he could. He slammed the creative writers at WWE for their incompetency and lack of knowledge to get someone like the Wyatt Sicks over with the crowd.

Russo underscored how “the same bunch of geniuses” fired Bray Wyatt years ago. The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion would often hail Wyatt as an underutilized genius and was always high on his character. Seeing his tribute act, the Wyatt Sicks, ending up on the chopping block hasn’t gone down well with Russo.

He called it disgraceful and added that the WWE management isn’t held accountable for anything. The faction whose release seems to have struck a chord with Russo just recently concluded a heatless and incredibly dull feud with the MFTs.

They kept going back and forth over Uncle Howdy’s lantern, and the obsession for the prop considered scared to the Wyatts relegated the WWE tag team titles to being second fiddle. The fans were clamoring for a long time for this rivalry to end. Now that it’s over, it’ll notoriously be recalled as the last traces of the Wyatt Sicks in WWE unless they’re brought back to the company at some point down the line.
