“You Gotta’ve a Bada** Wife” Joey Logano Reveals He Has Become a Foster Dad of Two

Team Penske Racing’s Joey Logano is infamous for his two-faced personality, as on the track he is the most aggressive a racer can be while off-track he is one of the most gentile people in the garage. His charity efforts over the years are an example of the three times champion’s commitment to giving back to the community.

Recently, Joey Logano and wife Brittany made a major announcement during 4th Annual Concert for Charity. They have become part of a foster care program and has brough in two children to their life. The couple is now are parents of five, and talking about it ahead of the Nashville race, the veteran credited his wife, for the support to do what is right.

You gotta have a bada** wife, that’s a big piece of it. I got that, I can check that box. But I also say, listen, we are very fortunate to live the life we live, and drive race cars. And sure, there’s a lot of things going on in our busy life. Party of five now, or, party of seven, five kids. But sometimes you just got to do what you feel like is right. And yeah, is it harder? Yeah. Is it worth it? Absolutely. I’d do it again, 100 more times. You know, sometimes in life we just make a big deal out of things, and someday you just got to do it, right?

Furthermore, Joey Logano pointed out that they have been discussing about the possibility of becoming foster parents for years and added that he felt God instructed them take over the role. He reiterated that his wife is the key behind the decision, as Brittany has to sacrifice the most to take care of five children’s considering the Ford racer will be busy with his NASCAR schedule.

We talked about it for years and talked ourselves out of it for those reasons you just brought up, about being busy, and can we really handle all that? We just felt like we kept getting called back to it, you know? God just, I felt like, kept knocking on the door, and eventually you got to just open the door up and say, ‘What do you want?’ I felt like that’s what was right. My wife’s a total rockstar that can handle a lot of it. It’s been fun.

Joey Logano explains how his kids are adjusting to the foster situation

One of the biggest challenges for foster parents is the dynamic between the foster kids and the biological kid. Fortunately, Logano’s three kids were welcoming of their parents’ decision and is happy about the new blended family situation, with the kids age being similar playing a key role.

It’s been fairly smooth. The ages are similar. Like, they kind of blend, and a couple of them were like instant best friends, which is great. They gotta share a room, so they figured out how to like each other. That went well. They’ve just been really solid kids, and they’re great kids, right?

Further talking about the point, the veteran racer asserted that the foster kids need love and support after two challenging years they been though. The Logano family is determined to give exactly that and change the life of the kids.

All foster kids have been through the wringer, and they just need some love and somebody to show them that they are going to be something. You just got to polish the diamond that is already there, and there’s no doubt in my mind these kids are going to be fantastic.
