There is no doubt that LeBron James will go down as one of the if not the greatest basketball player of all time. His accomplishments and accolades speak for themselves. He is regarded for his all-round game and sustained greatness.

James was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the number one pick in the 2003 NBA draft. He took an average Cavs side to the NBA Finals in 2007 before getting clean swept by the San Antonio Spurs.

In 2010, James surprised the NBA world when he decided to leave the Cavs and signed with the Miami Heat to join forces with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. During his four year spell in Miami, he made it to four NBA Finals and won two championships.

In 2014, James opted out of his contract with the Heat and made his return to the Cavs as he had some unfinished business. Wade backed James’ choice to leave Miami for Cleveland and explained for a legacy point of view.

I never even thought me and LeBron would be teammates, first of all. I loved when we played against each other. We went at each other. When we got an opportunity to do that, it was special. When he was ready to go back home, he got my blessing 100%. He needed to go back home and win a championship for his city. A part of his legacy, he needed that. It wouldn’t have been enough just winning in Miami.

Dwyane Wade on Complex

During his time in Miami, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade took the league by storm as they joined forces and went on to form one of the greatest trios in NBA history alongside Chris Bosh. Many went as far as to believe that James would have won multiple more championships if he stayed in Miami.

However, James fulfilled his desire of delivering the Cavs their first and only championship in 2016. It was the most important championship of his career and cemented his legacy as one of the greatest to ever do it.

LeBron James pulled off one of the greatest wins in 2016

When LeBron James returned to Cleveland in 2014, he had Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love by his side. In his first season after his return, he took the Cavs to the NBA Finals in 2015. However, they came up short as they lost to the Golden State Warriors in six games.

In the following season, the Cavs made it to their second consecutive NBA Finals. Many expected the Warriors to repeat as they came into the playoffs as the greatest regular season team of all time. The team from California topped the league with a 73-9 record.

However, James and the Cavs pulled off the biggest comebacks in NBA history. They became the first and only team to pull off a 3-1 comeback in the NBA Finals.

James went on to win his third NBA championship and was named as the Finals MVP for the third time. He went on to play in two more NBA Finals in 2017 and 2018, but came up short in the end.

Will LeBron James return to the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time?

With every passing day, rumors of LeBron James returning to Cleveland are getting stronger. His contract with the Los Angeles Lakers ends in the offseason this year. But it looks like the four-time champions still remains undecided about his future.

James is coming off an impressive 23rd season in the NBA. He took up the role of being the primary player for the Lakers after Luka Doncic was ruled out for the entire playoffs due to a hamstring injury.

The 41-year-old showed that he is still capable of performing at a high level when required as he led the Lakers to the Western Conference Semifinals this year. While they were clean swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder, James impressed everyone with his performances in the postseason.

However, it looks like James may look to end his career elsewhere. A return to the Cavs is a move that may interest him as he can end his illustrious career in the club where it all began. Nothing is confirmed at the moment, but everyone will be keeping a close eye on what James decides to do next.
