Phil Mickelson found his name trending on social media once again on Friday after Alan Shipnuck dropped a bombshell misconduct report regarding him. His attorneys later hit back at these developments.
Mickelson is currently away from golf. The 6-time major champion had played in just one event this year on LIV Golf and missed the rest of the events, along with the major championships.
In a post on X, he had revealed that he would be away from action due to a personal family matter. Earlier this month, he found himself in trouble following a shocking report from San Diego, California.
According to Golf Digest, a female employee at The Farms Golf Club outside San Diego alleged that Mickelson had made nonconsensual and inappropriate contact. The LIV Golf star had been a member of his course for a long time and used it for practice.
The club officials took this allegation seriously and started an investigation. They later located him and confronted him. The “Lefty” was later asked to leave the premises before he could even complete his round.

On Friday, the 56-year-old found his name in the headlines once again. Alan Shipnuck, who has a long history with Mickelson, dropped a huge report and brought up his incident with Pat Perez‘s ex-wife, Ashley.
In 2015, Mickelson had a huge fall off with Perez. During the PGA Tour’s Barclays tournament at Plainfield CC in Edison, NJ, Mickelson reportedly invited Perez and his then-wife, Ashley, to stay with him at his private villa near the course.
During the dinner, when Perez excused himself to use the washroom, Mickelson showed le** pictures of him to Ashley. Shipnuck reported that Mickelson later invited her to his bedroom.
I’m going to leave my bedroom door open tonight. When Pat falls asleep I want you to come see me.
Ashley Perez reportedly claimed as per Alan Shipnuck
Ashley later informed Pat about this incident after the tournament. While Mickelson later apologized for his actions, Perez expressed that he could not forgive the 45-time PGA Tour winner for this.
Shipnuck further reported that Mickelson had 2 more club incidents. One of them took place in the Madison Club in California, where he owned a condo. A woman, who was not his wife, was present at the condo. The golfer left the condo in 2021 on his wife, Amy Mickelson‘s, behest.
Another incident took place at The Bridges. He would pay a golf club boy some money, give his phone, and tell them to drive around the course for 3-4 hours. This was because Amy had a tracker on his phone. Mickelson’s membership was later given to Xander Schauffele.
Mickelson’s attorneys later hit back at these allegations. In a statement, they claimed that some of the allegations against him are “false” and “misleading.”
Some of the allegations circulating about Mr. Mickelson are false, and others revisit mistakes he has already acknowledged, publicly or privately. Stacking the disputed claims next to the ones he has owned does not make them credible. It instead contributes to a false and misleading narrative. No person, no article, and no book can present an accurate, complete, or personal story of the life Mr. Mickelson and his family have lived.

Mickelson got married in 1996 and has 3 children. His wife, Amy, is a breast cancer survivor. In 2010, when the golfer won his 3rd Masters Tournament title, he was left emotional.
As for Perez, he and Ashley divorced in November 2023. The couple had been married for 9 years.
Will Phil Mickelson miss the Open Championship following this bombshell report?
As mentioned above, Phil Mickelson has been away from golf action this year while tending to a family matter. With the bombshell report from Alan Shipnuck, there are some questions about whether the golfer will play in the Open Championship this year.

As of writing, Mickelson is still in the field at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, Merseyside, United Kingdom. Due to his victory in 2013, the golfer has an exemption from this event until the age of 60.
In his long career, Mickelson has played in this event every year except 2009. That year, he was attending to his wife Amy, who was undergoing cancer treatment.
This year, he has missed the first 3 majors. He has, however, not opened up about this incident and revealed what the personal family health matter has been.
In May, he reportedly submitted an entry to be eligible for the Open Championship in July. There are chances that he could pull out of this event following the recent reports against him.
