Over the past month, Brandon Aiyuk has been constantly engaged in calling out the San Francisco 49ers over their decision to void his guarantees last year.

The franchise decided to do so when they saw there was no light at the end of the tunnel with regard to their relationship. The wide receiver was not going to suit up for the team anymore, and they decided not to pay him just for sticking around.

Since then, there has been high speculation that he will be eventually traded. However, that has not come about so far. The team continues to list him as suspended so that they do not have to pay him anything.

All of this creates a deadlock where neither Aiyuk can move to a team of his choosing, nor can the 49ers avoid the drama that the 28-year-old brings.

He has been repeatedly calling out the team for apparently being ‘stupid’ to cancel his guarantees. He has even gone to the extent of labeling the commanders as the best team and has repeatedly suggested that he would eventually play for them.

In the midst of all this, former players have called out the Arizona State alum for essentially jeopardizing his career. But it seems he’s not going to stop anytime soon.

When the news finally came out that my guarantees were voided in November, the team continued to lie to the media/fan base, acting as if that was not a decision that was made in July.

His latest jab at the 49ers suggests that they had been lying all this time. Whereas Brandon Aiyuk has been upfront about his ability to play for the team.

Brandon Aiyuk reveals how he was ahead of his recovery curve when 49ers voided his guarantees

Brandon Aiyuk made it clear from the first part of his latest rant that once the 49ers voided the guaranteed money he was promised as part of his four-year, $120 million contract, it made no sense for him to play anymore.

We are 1 year from the date in which they made the decision to void my guarantees due to ‘missed rehab,’ yet they have the footage and the GPS information that shows I reached markers I never hit even before injury. All before the required recovery time ordered by the surgeon.

This is the former 25th overall pick, making it clear that he was ahead of his recovery curve. Yet, the organization decided to void the $27 million in guarantees he was owed in 2026.

When such disputes happen, usually the NFLPA is roped in to either file a grievance or at least negotiate with the team in question. But so far, nothing of that sort has been reported. Therefore, it could be that Brandon Aiyuk could not as truthful as he is making it to be.

Despite having the option of reinstatement, Brandon Aiyuk refuses to budge

One of the reasons fans and analysts refuse to believe Brandon Aiyuk‘s revelations is that the 6’0″ pass catcher has the option of applying for reinstatement.

It is a necessary step if the California native wants to be removed from the reserve/PUP list. Then, he can either negotiate a release or a trade to another team.

I will not be reinstating with them nor ever doing any kind of business with them. I’m locked in and focused on my opportunity to return to the field this season!

With this declaration, it seems the disgruntled receiver is not going to bend and ask the 49ers to get him out of this mess. He still believes that the team wronged him and that they should do what is necessary for him to leave.

What he does not understand is that the 49ers have leverage over his contract. Unless he takes the first step, his chances of playing this season are diminishing by the day.
