LeBron James and Draymond Green share a good relationship, and their friendship has grown over the years. Green will look to put their friendship to the test as he tries to recruit the King during their time together this week.

The 41-year-old called time on his spell at the Los Angeles Lakers after spending eight years in the franchise. His eighth season for the Lakers represented his 23rd season in the NBA. As he gets ready for a record-extending 24th season, he will be seen donning a new jersey for the last time in his career.

NBA insider Shams Charania reported that both James and Green are about to spend some time together this week. He hinted that Green may try to convince James to join the Dubs this year.

Breaking news here, I don’t know if it is breaking news but LeBron James and Draymond Green are spending some time together this week.

While LeBron James may be closer to the end than ever, his performances last season suggested otherwise. He averaged 20.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists in 60 appearances after a slow start to the regular season.

However, he led the Lakers to the Western Conference Semifinals. After some impressive performances in the playoffs, he showed everyone that he can still be an important piece in a team contending for a championship.

There have been multiple teams that have shown interest in signing the 41-year-old as he continues to decide on his future club. The biggest surprise was the Golden State Warriors, as they look to sign James and pair him with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. This only fuels added significant chatter around the ongoing sweepstakes for James.

Fans react to news of LeBron James and Draymond Green hanging out together

Shams Charania did not disclose the location of their meeting, but James and Green hanging out together this week could be a positive sign for the Warriors. As James’ camp continues to study and weigh in on their options, Green will have the opportunity to make a big push.

After news of their meeting broke, fans were quick to react on social media.

This is not the first time that Green has met a big star to recruit. He did the same after losing the 2016 NBA Finals and went to meet with Kevin Durant to recruit him. He ended up being successful as Durant joined the Warriors and spent three seasons with them.

Warriors’ chances with LeBron James are not the best

James’ agent, Rich Paul, has reported that 10-12 clubs have contacted him about James’ future. The likes of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers seem to be the frontrunners at the moment.

Shams Charania believes that the Warriors are not at the top of James’ list unless they make a move for Anthony Davis.

The Warriors’ whole plan going into free agency was, ‘Okay, let’s see if we can get Stephen Curry, Green, James, and Anthony Davis’ I think the big draw for James with the Warriors would be, ‘Let’s see if there’s an avenue to get a package deal to the Warriors.’ I don’t think the Warriors are up on that list. I think the Warriors believe they’re not up on that list unless they’re able to package for Anthony Davis.

A move for James would see a blockbuster pairing with Stephen Curry. Stephen A. Smith believes that if the Warriors could pull off the trade, they would be championship contenders. It remains to be seen if Green will be able to convince James to join him and play for the Warriors.
