Jaylen Brown Likes Post Blaming Jayson Tatum For Not Standing Up For His ‘Brother’
Jaylen Brown sparked rift rumors once after liking a post calling out Jayson Tatum.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have been separated after spending nine years together in the NBA. Both players became one of the most feared duos in the league over the last decade. They led the Boston Celtics to three Eastern Conference Finals, two NBA Finals, and a championship in 2024 in nine seasons.
Brown entered the league as the No. 3 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, while Tatum was drafted No. 3 in the following draft. The two formed a strong relationship on and off the court and achieved success very early in their careers.
However, things do not seem as rosy as they once were. Brown liked a post pointing the finger at Tatum for not standing up for him after being traded. The podcaster in the video blamed Tatum for Brown’s exit.
I’m actually surprised that part hasn’t come up a little bit more. The Celtics had clearly decided that Jayson Tatum is the one even if he is coming off the Achilles tear. But he clearly did not jump in front of the bus on this one right? Even if you don’t think Tatum got him out of there, Tatum did not keep him there and I think there’s a story in that part.

After a career-best 2025-26 campaign that saw him come in sixth place in the MVP race, the Celtics shocked the NBA world by trading Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers. The move surprised Brown as well as he wished to stay in Boston for the next 10 years if it was up to him.
There have been reports over the last few days that Jayson Tatum and Brown are not on the best of terms and have had a strained relationship in the last year. While Tatum dismissed any of those reports and claimed that the media tried to pit them against each other, it is fair to say that he could have done a better job in trying to keep Brown.
However, Brown’s like on the post does raise questions about their strained relationship off the court. But since it is just a like, it is possible that Brown may have liked the post by mistake.
Paul Pierce compared Jayson Tatum-Jaylen Brown relationship to Shaq-Kobe and Jordan-Pippen
Brown’s like on the post does add fuel to a fire that has been spreading for a while now. The relationship between the two superstars has been a talking point lately. It is possible that Tatum could have had a say in trying to stop the trade, given that he is the team’s focal point.
However, former NBA champion and Celtics legend Paul Pierce believes all of this is greatly overblown and compared them to the Shaquille O’Neal–Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan–Scottie Pippen duos.
This is actually news? Did Shaq and Kobe hang out, get along? Did Mike and Scottie? People live different lifestyles. Everybody just because they look like they got the best relationship and the chemistry on the court don’t mean that’s what it’s gonna equal off the court. Some people got families. Some people are into different things off on their free time. It’s like, all right, that’s cool and that’s okay if they didn’t hang out or communicate. Did we hear about any like scuffles?

After Brown’s exit was confirmed, Tatum did post a heartfelt goodbye for his former teammate on Instagram. He wrote that he was forever grateful for what they achieved together and has nothing but love and respect for Brown.
There is no loyalty in basketball, according to Jaylen Brown
Brown’s trade to the 76ers brought disappointment to Celtics fans as well. After all, Brown was named the Eastern Conference Finals MVP and Finals MVP when they won the championship in 2024. Unfortunately, the front office had other ideas.

Brown was seen with YouTube streamer IShowSpeed during the World Cup quarterfinals between France and Morocco. During the live stream, Brown spoke about the Celtics trading him.
It’s a crazy business, bro. Don’t become a basketball player. There’s no loyalty, there’s no love…They packed me up, sayonara chat, I’m out of here.

While Brown will be disappointed that his nine-year spell in Boston came to an end, he will be happy to join a team that could be serious contenders for the title next year. Joining the likes of Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey has placed the 76ers as one of the best teams in the East heading into next season.
