Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers shared a rare peek into his personal life. Rodgers has taken a massive step in fixing his relationship with his family.
The 42-year-old signed with the Steelers in 2025. In his first season, Rodgers delivered his first division title after a while. However, their adventure ended in the first knockout game.
Even though experts expected Rodgers to retire, he decided to extend his career by one more year. A few months have passed since then, and in a few days, the Steelers’ training camp is scheduled to kick off. Before that, Rodgers announced a big update in his life.
Rodgers uploaded several photos with his parents, Ed and Darla. Rodgers captioned the post, “Another bonding week #fam.”
Rodgers had grown distant from his folks in 2014. According to multiple reports, Rodgers’ parents didn’t approve of his girlfriend at the time, actress Olivia Munn.
The conflict became public when Rodgers’ younger brother, Jordan, joined The Bachelorette as a contestant. Jordan revealed that Aaron had distanced himself from the family. Rodgers was furious after seeing his family leaving two empty seats for him and his girlfriend at the dinner table.
Rodgers’ relationship with his family began to improve in 2023, when his father visited Lake Tahoe, Nevada, to watch his son play Golf at the American Century Championship. In Ian O’Connor’s book “Out of The Darkness: Th Mystery of Aaron Rodgers,” the Super Bowl winner opened up about this chance meeting. Conner wrote that both exchanged “I love yous.”
That said, Rodgers hasn’t reconciled with Jordan yet. He posted a photo with his other brother, Luke, but Jordan was left out.
Former rival gives rare praise to Aaron Rodgers
Rodgers has already announced that he would not play beyond the 2026 season. And he would like to say goodbye by lifting his second Lombardi Trophy.

To achieve his goal, Rodgers hosted team-building sessions during the offseason. Several Steelers offensive players joined him, including DK Metcalf, Pat Freiermuth, and a few others.
Retired NFL wide receiver and analyst Steve Smith Sr. provided his honest take on Rodgers assuming the role of a leader.
Aaron Rodgers is working with these guys as we speak right now. He is getting in the lab and trying to figure out, ‘Which guy does this well?’ And Aaron will go, ‘Hey.’ He’s brutally honest, and he’s gotten older, he’s gotten a little bit gentler with his honesty, which is, ‘Yeah, let’s not do that. I wanna throw you the ball when you’re doing this.’

Following a failed spell in the Big Apple, Rodgers answered Mike Tomlin’s calls and signed with the Steelers ahead of the 2025 season. Although the Steelers were far from a dominant force, they got the job done when required.
On the final day of the regular season, the Steelers defeated the Baltimore Ravens to qualify for the playoffs. Rodgers completed 327 passes for 3322 yards, threw 24 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. However, the Steelers suffered a 30-6 humiliation in the wildcard round. Many thought Rodgers would pack his bags and bid goodbye to the game, but the four-time NFL MVP has unfinished business. He signed a one-year deal worth up to $22 million.
