Ryan Clark’s firing from ESPN even compelled Nick Bosa to end his four-year X/Twitter hiatus. Bosa reacted to the news using one simple emoji.

ESPN has fired several employees ever since the Disney takeover and the merger with the NFL Network. In the latest cost-cutting drive, Clark was told to end his allegiance with the company.

Apart from Clark, ESPN also bid goodbye to Karl Ravech, Cam Newton, Charles Davis, Bart Scott, Tom Pelissero, Stephania Bell, and David Lloyd. However, Clark’s firing created the most buzz. San Francisco 49ers pass rusher Nick Bosa reacted to the news on Thursday.

Bosa celebrating Clark’s dismissal did not surprise fans on Twitter. Bosa has long been associated with USA President Donald Trump. Back in 2024, Bosa watched UFC 299 alongside Trump. The 28-year-old also helped to popularize the Trump dance.

Clark, meanwhile, is a staunch critic of Trump’s reign. The Super Bowl winner has called out Trump on various occasions for his treatment of minorities in the country.

Fans quickly called out Bosa for celebrating Clark losing his day job.

Clark joined ESPN in 2015. He climbed the ladder and eventually became a regular face on Get Up, First Take, and NFL Live. According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, Clark joined NFL Live via Zoom on Monday. Even though the news was scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, ESPN head honchos wanted to avoid any leaks, so they told Clark he was being fired while he was filming NFL Live.

Clark didn’t film the final part of the episode. Some speculated that ESPN may have forced Clark to stop filming. Clark shed light on it with a sarcastic reply.

I wasn’t forced? “I ask, should I be done now?” The answer was “yes”.

Clark’s former colleague and veteran ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith called out the network for firing “the best” football analyst in the world. However, retired linebacker Emmanuel Acho claimed Smith could have used his influence to stop the network from firing Clark but did nothing.

Will Nick Bosa play in week one for the 49ers?

The Niners finished third in their division and qualified for the wildcard round, where they defeated the Eagles. But their adventure came to an end in the divisional playoff game. Bosa missed all of it because of his injury.

According to Bosa, he’s on track to play in week one of the 2026 season.

I never doubted that I could get back to where I am.

Nick Bosa said in May (H/T CBS News)

Bosa has played 85 games for the 49ers. He has accumulated 278 tackles, 91 tackles for loss, 13 forced fumbles and 64.5 sacks.
