LeBron James has finally made his announcement after over three weeks of nonstop rumors. He may be entering his 24th campaign next season, but the offseason was still centered around his future despite some blockbuster moves.

The four-time champion has played for three franchises since entering the NBA in 2003 – Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers. During his 23-year career, he has played with several All-Stars and talented teammates.

Former NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins believes that the current 76ers roster is the most talented team that James has ever played with in his career.

I think this is the most talented roster by far. It’s hard to even compare this team to any of his past situations because he’s one of the main guys making the most money on his team so it kinda limits what else could be added to the team. But based off the talent on paper, I think it’s Philly by far.

DeMarcus Cousins knows a thing or two about playing with talented teammates. He played for the Golden State Warriors, who built a super team from 2016 to 2019. Hence, it is not surprising that he said the 76ers team James will be joining is the most talented team he has ever played on.

Meanwhile, James is coming off a historic 23rd season in the NBA. Throughout his career, James has often been surrounded by some talented players.

His first stint with the Cavs did not see him play with much talent. However, that changed when he joined Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami. He returned to the Cavs after four years and played alongside Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. During his time with the Lakers, James has shared the locker room with Anthony Davis and later with Luka Doncic.

While he has played with some incredible talent over the years, it is difficult to compare with the squad assembled in Philly. He will be joining the 76ers with the likes of Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown and Tyrese Maxey. On paper, they may boast the strongest starting five in the upcoming season.

The Warriors dynasty began in 2014 and lasted for five years till 2019. During this period, they made it to the NBA Finals in all five years and lifted three championships in 2015, 2017, and 2018.

One of the main reasons why many call them the greatest squad of all time was not just for their results but because of the talent assembled. They had the likes of Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala, and more.

Cousins, who played with those star-studded teammates, compared them to the 76ers roster with James.

Reminds me of that dynasty Warriors team and there’s Klay, Steph, Kevin Durant all on the floor. Whoever you pass the ball to, there’s a great chance it’s going in.

In terms of achievements, this may be the most talented team James has ever played in. Embiid is a former league MVP, and Brown has won a championship and was named the Finals MVP. Meanwhile, Maxey averaged over 28 points last season and led the 76ers last season when Embiid and Paul George were injured for the majority of the season.

Charles Barkley accuses LeBron James of always stacking his teams

It is a fact that LeBron James wins a championship wherever he goes. He won two titles during his time in Miami, and they have never won one since.

It is a similar story with the Cavs, as he delivered them their first and only title in 2016, and they have never reached the Finals after his departure. He delivered the Lakers their first title in a decade in 2020, and it remains to be seen how they compete without him next season.

However, Charles Barkley has often been critical of James for stacking up teams wherever he goes. He did not hold back once again after James’ move to Philly was confirmed.

The number one knock on LeBron for older guys like myself has always been, “Yo, man, you always stacking your team.” He stacked in Miami. He stacked in Cleveland. He stacked in LA. Now he’s stacking it in Philly. So that to me, I’m going to still have the same criticism I’ve always had.

In Philly, it is likely that James may not even be the second or third option in terms of scoring. Some of the old heads like Barkley are not fans of James stacking up his teams. However, he needs to be praised for playing the level he is showing at 41. It looks like the King may have found his best-ever chance to win a fifth championship next season.
