Aaron Rodgers went off against ESPN and mainstream media for loose coverage of the Dianna Russini scandal. And the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback chose an ESPN show to take shots at the network.

On Monday, Pat McAfee reached the Steelers’ spring camp to interview the veteran quarterback. Without wasting much time, Rodgers dove right into the Russini scandal in front of McAfee.

You have literally an individual that maybe used to work at ESPN, that covers our league at the highest level. And there’s a major scandal. And it’s just like nobody can [ ] talk about it? What are we even doing here?… If it’s effecting certain things, if there’s leaks going on, if there’s tampering going on. If that person is also an MVP voter and a Coach of the Year voter… that’s real life.

Back in April, the New York Post rocked the football world by publishing intimate photos of NFL insider Dianna Russini with the New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel. The New York Times, for whom Russini worked, launched an investigation against her.

Russini resigned and disappeared from the public eye. However, outlets like TMZ and independent journalists Tony Farmer and Pablo Torre continued to work as whistleblowers.

A TMZ report uncovered Vrabel and Russini taking private boat rides and hosting pool parties. The publication also released additional photographs of the pair at a bar in Tennessee when Vrabel was the coach of the Titans.

In late June, the Times published its findings on the case. The Times report documented that Russini frequently used her credentials as an NFL insider to secure favors, such as avoiding traffic violations.

Russini’s whereabouts remain unclear. However, sources around the league suggest that she’s still with her husband, Kevin Goldschmidt, a corporate executive who is a vice president at Shake Shack.

Aaron Rodgers shared a previously unknown fact about the Steelers’ wildcard exit in 2025

The race for the AFC North crown last year was nail-bitingly close. None of the four teams, the Steelers, the Ravens, the Bengals and the Browns, looked up to the task of winning the division.

The battle for divisional supremacy came down to the final game of the year between the Steelers and the Ravens. The Steelers won the competition after the Ravens’ rookie kicker lent them a helping hand by missing a crucial field goal.

The Steelers were paired up against the Texans, a team that boasted one of the top defenses. The Texans’ pass rushers sacked Aaron Rodgers four times and forced a pick-6 late in the fourth quarter. The Texans won 30-6.

Rodgers completed just 51% of his passes, threw zero touchdowns and an INT. Recently, the 42-year-old told The Athletic’s Mike Silver that he was a little under the weather that day.

I wasn’t feeling good. I actually came over to team hotel, and they sent me home—probably because I was pale and looked [ ].

Rodgers finished the 2025 season with 327 completions for 3322 yards, 24 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.

After the loss to the Texans, experts suggested that Rodgers should retire from the game. Then again, both the Steelers’ former and current head coaches made it clear that Rodgers would be coming back. Sure enough, the four-time NFL MVP signed a one-year extension. Rodgers credited his wife Brittani for encouraging him to continue playing.
