The Los Angeles Dodgers are in a major slump. While they snapped a 7-game losing streak on Saturday, they lost once again on Sunday and suffered a series defeat against the Arizona Diamondbacks. First baseman Freddie Freeman, however, is unworried about the recent form of the team.
After their series win against the Seattle Mariners, the NL West got swept by the Boston Red Sox. They got outscored 20-10 in that series at home.
Following their 3-2 loss against them on Saturday, reports emerged that they had acquired Tarik Skubal from a trade with the Detroit Tigers. The team gave up 3 prospects from their farm system to bring in the 2-time Cy Young Award winner.
Despite having Skubal, they got swept again. In his Dodgers debut against the Chicago Cubs, the southpaw threw 6 innings and picked up 6 strikeouts but gave up 2 runs. Those 2 runs proved costly as the Cubs emerged as 5-1 winners.
Friday saw the defending World Series champion drop another game after leading 3-2. A 2-run walk-off home run by Ryan Waldschmidt saw the D-backs win 4-3 and hand them a 7th straight loss.
On Saturday, the streak was finally snapped. A 10th-inning single from Shohei Ohtani helped them to a 2-1 win. They were, however, unable to keep the winning run going.
Starting pitcher Edurado Rodriguez threw 115 pitches across 7 innings and gave up just 2 runs. The D-backs clinched a 4-2 win and won the series.

This is the Dodgers’ 8th defeat in their last 9 games. In their last 24 games, they have been on the losing end in 15 games, which has seen their record go from 61-33 to 70-48.
This has raised some concerns among the Dodgers fanbase. However, Freddie Freeman is not too worried about it. While speaking with the reporters on Sunday, the 10-time All-Star simply claimed that there are always ups and downs in baseball.
It’s baseball. There’s ups and downs. We’re gonna go through it. No one’s worried in here. … There’s no concern in here. We’re a good team.
Freddie Freeman told the reporters as per Sportsnet LA

The D-backs were the first team to sweep the Dodgers this year. Just before the All-Star break, they got the better of their division rivals in a 3-game set. With their win on Sunday, the gap between them in the NL West standings has come down to 7.5 games.
Dodgers hoping to get back to winning ways with series against struggling Royals
After their 8th defeat in their last 9 games, there are some worried about the form of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The team has been inconsistent with the bat, which has led them to this slump. The LA-based side is now hoping to get back to winning ways with a series against the struggling Kansas City Royals.

For the series opener, they will have Tarik Skubal on Monday. The 29-year-old will make his home debut while going up against Noah Cameron of the Royals.
The second game of this series will see Blake Snell return to the team. After making just one start in May, he underwent surgery to remove loose bodies and had been on the injured list.
Tarik Skubal will make his Dodgers home debut Monday, and Blake Snell will return off the IL Tuesday, Dave Roberts said.

After this series, they will face the Milwaukee Brewers in an important showdown. Following their slump, the NL Central has the best record in the league at 74-44. They also lost the series against them earlier this season.
