The drama over Darlington Raceway clash between Carson Hocevar and Brad Keselowski is not over yet. Revenge was promised the by the RFK Racing owner driver, over the attitude shown by the young racer on and off the track that many in the garage sees as complete lack of respect.
The 2012 Cup Series champion talked about how he feels after having one week to reflect on the drama ahead of the Watkins Glen race. He understands things are and won’t be the same as it was last week, making it necessary for him to be solid with his decision making in Sunday.
Certainly, I had more than a few minutes to reflect. Each race weekend presents its own challenges and coming to Gateway, obviously, my car is not in The Playoffs or Chase, but we still have a lot to race for and commitments and things that we have to do and a lot of people that work really hard on the car.
Brad Keselowski said.
The veteran needs to balance his retribution plans with the expectations he has for the weekend. Brad Keselowski needs to take advantage of the pace he has to get better results while also seeking opportunities to have revenge on his racing rival.
I have to balance that with the fact that (the) different things that happened last weekend…My challenge this weekend is to balance that with going out and maximizing the performance I can this weekend, while also not letting a fire spread for all intents and purposes of being taken advantage of.
Brad Keselowski added as reported via motorsport.com.
Later in the same conversation, the champion driver asserted that he is going to walk a tough line in this weekend and probably the coming weekends. The potential drama that could unfold is not in his hands and he needs to be careful about the consequences it might’ve.
So how to walk that line is difficult. It’s kind of one of those things you just live and you figure it out in the moment and it’ll play out however it plays out.
Brad Keselowski asserted.
Brad Keselowski asserts Carson Hocevar won’t get an Ernie Irvan like intervention
One driver that have been through a similar drama in the past is Ernie Irvan in 1990’s. Many senior drivers came together and had an intervention for the youngster, who was making enemies left and right with his aggressive style.

Some feels Hocevar needs something similar happen to him and according to Keselowski that’s not possible, considering the sports culture has changed over the years. Right now, the Spire driver needs to reality check that should happen on the track not off of it.
We’re in a different day and age, which is greater than our sport. It transcends our society as a whole where that level of social interaction is not valued the same way it was 10 to 30 years ago. And at some point, everybody just has to touch the hot stove and learn.
Brad Keselowski said.
The points made by the No:6 Ford driver seems rational and shows how taking revenge isn’t as easy as it seems on the track. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the NASCAR rival’s duo in the coming days.
