A staff member of the Los Angeles Rams got a little bit too excited and flashed the middle finger at the Philadelphia Eagles supporters. The incident drew a hostile reaction.

The Rams traveled to Philadelphia, aspiring to win after suffering a defeat last week. After trailing for nearly two-thirds of the game on Sunday, the Rams finally carved their way back with four minutes left. Running back, Kyren Williams, scored a walk-in touchdown, reducing the gap to just three points.

A couple of minutes later, Williams scored again to put the Rams in front. A camera pointed at the Rams coaching gallery caught a staff member flashing the middle finger at the Eagles supporters sitting below.

It got the fans riled up. They retaliated with curse words, and someone even threw a water bottle at the glass. Security stepped in to calm the rowdy fans down.

Sean McVay called a team meeting with the game on the line

Before week one, the Rams had the best odds to win the Super Bowl at home in February. They got off to the worst possible start—a defeat to rivals, the San Francisco 49ers, in Australia.

In the following week, they made quick work of a Giants team that lost its starting quarterback. The honeymoon period lasted just six days as the Denver Broncos edged them in Mile High.

The Rams sat 1-2 after week three. On Sunday, October 4, they faced a tricky opponent in the Eagles. The Rams had won just once in seven previous meetings against their NFC rivals.

Despite being 2-1 at kickoff, the Eagles weren’t firing on all cylinders and carried a bunch of injuries. So, the Rams had a great chance to sneak a victory.

However, quarterback Matthew Stafford turned the ball over twice, and the Eagles took a double-digit lead before the final quarter. With a little over three minutes remaining, Sean McVay called a surprising team meeting. The entire starting eleven listened intently to their coach.

During the post-game presser, McVay revealed what he said to the players.

It was just more of what was on my heart, to just say, ‘Guys, we’re capable. You’ve got to believe.’ And we’ve got to just string good plays together… Our defense is doing everything that they can to keep us in this game… I believed in our ability to execute and come back and win that game.

Moments later, Williams scored a touchdown and added a second before shutting down the Eagles’ offense to claim a hard-fought victory.

Sean McVay hypes up the Rams after a tough win

McVay is among the most successful coaches currently operating in the NFL, after Chiefs Andy Reid. McVay has won a championship and nearly added a second last year. The Rams are still among the favorites to go all the way.

The win over the Eagles had McVay pumped up in the locker room.

I can’t say enough about the defense keeping us in that [expletive game]. It took us a little bit of time, but we woke up on offense and defense, and if we can find a way to put it together for four quarters, that can be some good [expletive].

Sean McVay said to his players

The Rams are 2-2 and next on the schedule are the Buffalo Bills. The AFC East club suffered its first defeat of the year against the New England Patriots. McVay is 1-2 against the Bills.
