The city of Milwaukee had a double celebration on Monday night as the Milwaukee Bucks finally opened their season account and the Milwaukee Brewers extended their lead in the World Series. Bucks later took a subtle jab at the Miami Heat and the Tampa Bay Rays.

The 2025-26 season was not a good one for the Bucks. They missed the playoffs and finished the season with a 32-50 record.

Following their disappointing end to the season, speculation arose that the team could trade away superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. In June, this was official as the Bucks traded him away.

He and Bobby Portis Jr. were sent to Miami in exchange for Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’el Ware, Kasparas Jakucionis, the No. 13 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, a 2030 first-round pick swap, first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, and a 2033 second-round pick.

This brought an end to Antetokounmpo’s 13-year stay with the Bucks. Fast forward to the new season, both his former and new sides started the campaign with a 0-3 record.

On Monday, the Bucks finally got into the win column as they took down the Indiana Pacers 110-102. Meanwhile, the Heat lost 115-110 against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday.

As the Bucks celebrated their first win of the new season, the Brewers dismantled the Rays in St. Petersburg, Florida. The National League champions put up 8 runs in a marathon 5th inning and blew away the home side 10-1 to take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven World Series.

So the city of Milwaukee enjoyed 2 sporting wins on Monday. Following their win against the Pacers, the Bucks took a shot at the Heat and the Rays and claimed it was a bad day for Florida sports fans.

Bad day to be a Florida sports fan.

The Bucks have showered huge support on the Brewers in the postseason this year. When the Brewers hosted Game 1 of the World Series at American Family Field on Friday, the NBA side happily shifted the time of their season opener.

Milwaukee could soon celebrate a World Series triumph with Brewers leading 3-0

The Milwaukee Brewers are on the edge of history. Their 10-1 demolition of the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 3 saw them take a 3-0 lead in the World Series. On Tuesday night, the city of Milwaukee could see a major celebration with a Brewers triumph.

The Brewers, who finished with the best record in the league at 103-59, have lost just once in the postseason. Following their Game 3 loss in the National League Division Series (NLDS) against the San Diego Padres, they have been on a winning run.

They eliminated the Padres in Game 4 with a 3-1 win. Then they completed their revenge against the Los Angeles Dodgers by sweeping them 4-0 in the National League Championship Series (NLCS). Last year, the Dodgers swept them 4-0 in the NLCS and went on to win the World Series.

With 3 straight wins against the Rays, they are the first team to sweep the NLCS and win the first 3 games of the World Series. They have also tied the 2004 Boston Red Sox, the 2005 Chicago White Sox, the 2014 Kansas City Royals and the 2019 Washington Nationals to win 8 straight postseason games.

A win on Tuesday would not only clinch their first World Series title but also see them become the first team in playoff history to win 9 games in a single postseason.

For the Rays and their fans in Florida, things are not looking good. They will hope to avoid joining the unwanted list of teams that got swept in the World Series with a win in Game 4 and try to push the series to Game 5.
