The new 2022 list on quarterback tiers had stirred a quit bit of controversy. Kelly Stafford, a podcaster and wife of QB Matt Stafford took to Instagram to react to the disrespect her husband faced and questioned the credibility of the list
The list was created by Mike Sando of the Athletic. The list included Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Justin Herbert, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes in Tier 1. Stafford was the highest ranked in tier 2 alongside Kyler Murray, Lamar Jackson, Russell Wilson, Dak Prescott, Matt Ryan, and Derek Carr.
Kelly reacted to the post by Colin Cowherd who was discussing how the super bowl winner was snubbed. “Love how it still surprises me the amount of disrespect Matthew gets. Ya I’m bias[ed], but so is everyone who created these ‘lists’. What a joke,” she wrote.
Kelly pointed out that her husband never got the attention of the media and critics no matter how much effort he put into his game.
“Find myself hoping one day he will get the credit he deserves, but I guess I’ll stop holding my breath for that,” she wrote. “Goes to LA … new system, new team, new chemistry to build … Under a s*** ton of pressure to succeed… he does. They win the Super Bowl year one.”
“F*** It”. I always love the underdog: Kelly Stafford

Matt Stafford is a high quality QB who won the super bowl with LA Rams in his first year. He managed to get 41 touchdowns and 17 interceptions with over 4,886 yards in the 2021 NFL season. These are impressive stats for a tier 2 quarterback. His wife also didn’t fail to point out that he managed to achieve all these numbers while being in a new city, a new team, basically getting used to a different life.
She concluded by pointing out that Matt’s achievements had been overlooked. “Remember: he didn’t get voted into the Pro Bowl. But f*** it. I always love the underdog.”
The couple got married in 2015 and have four children together, they met during college where Kelly was a cheerleader and Matt used to play football for the University of Georgia.
