Following two strong wins, the New York Jets were expected to keep their winning streak alive with a victory over the Denver Broncos at home. The result, however, shook fans as Broncos kept the Jets offense at bay with a low-scoring 10-9 game.
Aaron Rodgers, starting quarterback of the New York Jets, took responsibility for the loss in a game which saw no touchdowns from the Green and the White. Neither the Jets, nor the Broncos, succeeded to make a first down in the opening quarter. It took seven possessions to reach a first down at MetLife.
Speaking on the game, Rodgers admitted the loss was on the offense. He mentioned that the defense was extremely good by only letting 10 points. He further pointed out that when defense gives you a game like that, they should win it.
"When your defense holds them to 10, you've got to win the game 100% of the time. That's on the offense, that's on me. Not good enough."

Rodgers admitted that he missed some throws and blamed the soggy outfield due to the rain. The New York Jets also missed a late chance to score a match-winning field goal. A strong Broncos defensive forced Greg Zuerlerin to a 50-yard attempt through an interference. Rodgers also had a minor injury scare creating a panic on what’s happening in the team.
The fans expected a lot from the Jets game, considering Rodgers’ beef with Sean Payton. Payton, the head coach of the Broncos, lashed out last year against Jets OC Nathaniel Hackett, prompting a response from Rodgers. Rodgers said that he was surprised by Payton’s choice of words and asked him to keep Hackett’s name out of his mouth.
Jets HC Robert Saleh and QB Aaron Rodgers disagree over reason behind Jets’ struggles
The New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh and quarterback Aaron Rodgers debated the cause of the Jets struggles. The duo had difference of opinions as the Jets struggled with penalties. There’s trouble in not-so-paradise once again.
There were thirteen penalties in their 10-9 loss to the Denver Broncos at MetLife Stadium. Most of the penalties came pre-snap where Rodgers’ unique cadence seemed to confuse the team’s offensive linemen to jump early.
Following the game, Jets head coach Robert Saleh said the cadence on offense was a problem they need to deal with. Rodgers didn’t agree with his coach as he noted that it’s something that they use as a weapon.
It also didn’t sit right with him to be asked to dial his cadence back. The news adds more drama following the death stare and shove off during the last game victory between the duo.
