The New York Jets did not take off tonight. In what was supposed to be a relatively easy night for Aaron Rodgers & Co, the team ended up struggling against the Broncos’ defense that outdid themselves.
The energy in MetLife Stadium was at a maximum at the beginning of the game but the entire crowd turned silent late in the fourth quarter after Aaron Rodgers went down on a play. The quarterback dropped back in the pocket to throw but was quickly overrun by the Broncos’ edge rushers.
Denver Broncos‘ defensive tackle Malcolm Roach wound up grabbing Rodgers’ legs right around the Achilles region and brought him down. It was scary for fans to see this as it was the same region which resulted in Rodgers’ sitting out for an entire season. The quarterback managed to get up and walked slowly to the sidelines. He seemed to limp on two steps but fortunately, he seemed alright.

Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets lost despite a terrible performance from Bo Nix
Tonight’s game was the lowest-scoring game of this season so far. The Jets failed to score a single touchdown and it was kicker Greg Zuerlin that bore the brunt of putting up points on the board. He scored 9 points but failed to convert a 50-yard field goal with under 47 seconds to go in the game which would have won the Jets the game.
Aaron Rodgers threw for 225 yards but was unable to throw a single touchdown. The case was different with Bo Nix, who came into Met Life Stadium and beat Aaron Rodgers. He threw the ball for just 60 yards but had one touchdown.
The 12th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft created history today. But for all the wrong reasons. He became the first quarterback since 2000 to have multiple completions in the first half of the game but have negative yards.
At the end of the first half, Nix had -7 passing yards and had converted 7 of his 15 passes. It was a surprising night for the Jets and the Broncos. The home team was expected to steamroll the visitors but that was far from reality.
It was a surprising step-back for Bo Nix, who had the best game of his career in Week 3. Denver was fortunate enough that Zuerlin missed the field goal as it resulted in them winning by a margin of 1 point.
