In Short
  • Abdul Carter expressed disbelief over Jaxson Dart's appearance with Donald Trump, initially thinking it was an AI-generated image.
  • Carter faced backlash on social media for his comments, with fans urging him to apologize and delete his tweet.
  • After several hours, Carter clarified that he and Dart had spoken and resolved the issue privately.

Abdul Carter had a hard time believing that his New York Giants teammate and quarterback, Jaxson Dart, would share the stage with President Donald Trump. Carter thought that someone must have used artificial intelligence (AI) to superimpose Dart next to the US President.

Dart showed up at Trump’s campaign in New York City on Friday. Social media became flooded with photos and clips of Dart and Trump, making it impossible for his teammates to miss.

However, Dart’s peer and Giants edge rusher, Abdul Carter, had a wild reaction to the meeting.

Thought this [expletive] was AI, what we doing man.

Carter opened Pandora’s box with one tweet. Giants fans and followers of Trump schooled the 22-year-old for making a big deal out of Dart’s actions.

Prominent Giants fan account, the Gridiron Media, directly called out Carter.

Abdul Carter has a different political opinion than his teammate. Instead of talking to him in person, or just letting it be, he blasts him on social media. He continues to show, even after sleeping through his rookie season (literally), how little awareness he has. Pathetic.

A fan urged Carter to delete the tweet.

Apologize and Delete this or The Giants will trade your [expletive]… you know it’s real can’t say you thought this was AI and “what we doing” cUse u dont like it you will be on the Browns real fast and stay out of Politics stupid worry about Football !!!

One commenter tried to reason with Carter by explaining to him that Trump is the President of the nation because he has the backing of at least half of the population.

One commentator noted that Carter’s idol, and Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor, is a Trump supporter, as evidenced by uploading a photo of LT at the White House.

For better context, Carter requested Taylor’s permission to wear his number 56, which was retired by the Giants. Taylor declined his offer and advised him to pick his own number and immortalize it.

Abdul Carter follows up on his earlier tweet about Jaxson Dart

Nearly ten hours after posting his first tweet about Dart, Carter made an announcement.

Me & JD6 [Dart] are good! We spoke earlier as Men. Yall can keep yall narratives.

Carter tweeted

Glad that’s over, because it’s an unnecessary distraction that no club wants, especially right before the OTAs.

Carter, a Penn State alum, was drafted third overall in 2025. In 17 appearances (6 starts), Carter recorded 43 combined tackles, 7 TFLs, 4 sacks, two forced fumbles, and two forced returns.

The Giants drafted Dart twenty picks after Carter, twenty-fifth overall. After parting ways with Daniel Jones, the Giants required a fresh face. The front office signed veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, but they weren’t viewed as long-term solutions. So, they added the Ole Miss alum.

Wilson lasted a few games before Dart took over as the starter. His rookie year ended with 216 completions for 2272 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. He further added 487 yards on the ground and 9 touchdowns.
