“I may not have birthed my daughter”- Amanda Nunes fires back at Julianna Pena for her controversial mom-champ comments

Amanda Nunes lost her bantamweight belt to Julianna Pena at UFC 269 which led to history being created for being one of the UFC’s topmost biggest upsets. Julianna Pena took control of a very heated battle in the 2nd round and proceeded to submit Nunes via rear-naked choke at 03:26.

However, Julianna Pena got UFC fans enraged after she commented, “She’s a wonderful mother. But I gave birth to my daughter, and I know that I feel like, for giving birth, I am the first mom champ.” She even said that the UFC needs to create a new belt for her titling ‘The Baddest Mom on the Planet’.

Amanda Nunes took to Instagram to rebuke her comments sharing a picture with her daughter Nina and captioning, “I may not have birthed my Daughter. If I wanted to I could have. I chose to watch from the outside. After going through the IVF procedure with Nina. It was truly heartbreaking to see many women break down in the waiting room knowing they would never be able to carry their own and have to take another direction. This does not make these women any less of a MOM than Nina or I. As a MOM champion as well, I feel this needed to be said. @venezuelanvixen”.

Since it has been highly anticipated and probably already confirmed that a rematch between the two women will take place, this may add fuel to the fire and possibly make the next fight, even more, spicier than the last.

Dana White says Amanda Nunes Vs Julianna Pena rematch will be the ‘biggest women’s fight of all time’

Dana White believes that Ronda Rousey vs Holly Holm is the biggest women’s fight that the UFC’s ever had but the rematch between Nunes and Pena will seize the top spot.

In an interview with ESPN, Dana says, “The Pena rematch with Nunes will probably be the biggest women’s fight of all time. That rematch will be the biggest women’s fight of all time. It’s Ronda Rousey and Holly. Every way that it could possibly beat it, it will. I don’t think it. I know it. It will crush that fight.”

Pena herself said that she’s ready to take on Nunes and give her a shot at a rematch but for right now she wants to focus on her daughter and take some time off with Nunes doing the exact same thing.

All cards are leading up to a potential fight in the spring of 2022 and odds are still favoring Nunes to win. Will Nunes vs Pena become the biggest women’s fight of all time? We shall find out.
