The WNBA All-Star weekend went by with young superstars Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and Paige Bueckers as the biggest names to feature in this year’s edition.

The trio has become mainstays ever since they came into the league, and their battles have become the source of quite a few narratives. Although the Dallas Wings star has close relationships with both Clark and Reese, the latter two are not anything more than acquaintances.

Tales of their rivalry have been running for the past few years, and there is no way it is going to die down anytime soon. Thankfully, this season, there have been no incidents so far, and that has helped keep a lid on any debates between their fans.

When they combined to help Team USA sweep their competition at the FIBA World Cup Regional Qualifiers, many felt that the two had kept their differences aside for the greater good.

They did not even cross paths during the All-Star weekend, as they were playing on opposing teams. Caitlin Clark’s Team Spoon won the game, and after ESPN’s Holly Rowe spoke with game MVP Jonquel Jones, she called upon the Indiana Fever superstar and Dominique Malonga from Team Coop to talk about the game.

As soon as Rowe mentioned Clark’s name, Angel Reese suddenly stopped clapping and pursed her lips as she gave some glances over to both the ESPN reporter as well as her rival.

Fans saw this and uploaded the clip onto social media. Considering how both the young superstars are technically at odds with each other, these clips quickly went viral.

Caitlin Clark’s signature shoes are already a hit with her peers

Another reason for this so-called jealousy could be that, despite her social media popularity, Angel Reese’s signature shoes have not really caught on, particularly in the WNBA.

Fans may be buying the shoes and forcing the manufacturer to restock. But the true test of popularity is when peers and other professional basketball players wear them.

Caitlin Clark’s Kobe Protro PEs were a big hit with NBA stars. But now, she has a signature shoe. Even though the design drew some sharp reactions, her colorways have started to amplify interest in it.

In fact, when StudBudz announced that they were going to bring back their livestream for this edition of the All-Star weekend, both Natisha Heideman and Courtney Williams asked Clark if they would get a pair of her shoes.

The 24-year-old did not hesitate, bringing pairs of her shoes for both her fellow point guards. Their excitement was such that they spent nearly half an hour on their live stream talking about it.

Other players and ESPN crew wanted Caitlin Clark’s shoes

Once Caitlin Clark handed Courtney Williams and Natisha Heideman, the Minnesota Lynx guard made it clear that she would wear them during the All-Star game.

Since both were part of Team Spoon, fellow teammate Jonquel Jones spotted Williams wearing them as they were walking towards the court. She immediately asked why Clark got the StudBudz shoes while she didn’t get one. To this, the Fever star replied:

They wear the same size as me.

Caitlin Clark replied

Even ESPN’s Malika Andrews and Andraya Carter had the same question since they, too, wore the same size nine as the point guard. But Clark told them that she only has sample sizes for now.

It seems that once the public version is ready to be unveiled, the three-time All-Star might have to fulfil some demands from her peers first. Fans will be able to buy it from Nike and other stores, but Clark will have to make sure to send the shoes to her fellow players on her own.
