The Los Angeles Lakers might not be the team to look up with high standards this season. They’ve been constantly trying to undo the past that has made them stand at the seventh position of the Western Conference roster. Before the win over the Houston Rockets, the Lakers had their five-game losing streak pulling their team performance to below average in this season.
But it was the match against the Portland Trail Blazers where the Lakers shined across the stadium when they earned their victory with the lead of 30 plus points on the final board. The day after LeBron James had his 37th birthday, the four-times champion proved his ability despite his growing age. LeBron with just 29 minutes in the game recorded his season-high 43 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists from 16-of-26 shooting on the court.
Lakers point guard Russell Westbrook also had a great game against the Blazers as he recorded another triple-double with 15 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists in just 30 minutes of the game. Russell also recorded two steals while shooting 5-of-10 from the field and 5-of-6 at the foul line.
Kendrick Perkins speaks on the Lakers point-guard Russell Westbrook and his latest triple-double
Recording how unstable Russell Westbrook’s performance is in the league Kendrick Perkins shared his opinion on the player in response to his latest triple-double in the game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Kendrick Perkins on the latest episode with the First Take said “If [Russ] could go and get a championship with that, then we start putting him in a different conversation as far as all-time greats!”
Los Angeles Lakers having Russell Westbrook this season is already an ongoing debate that shall never end until the trade deadlines are crossed. But it seems for Russell Westbrook that he is not going to give on the team, despite his poor stats and being a leader in turnovers he’s constantly trying to improve which can be realized from his last performance against the Blazers.
Now LeBron James and his team, the Los Angeles Lakers have made up to 18-19 in the Pacific Division that still brings up the hope in the fans to seem in the playoffs.
