It has now been almost 2 weeks since UFC middleweight, Israel Adesanya lost his title at UFC 281. He was knocked out by Alex Pereira in the fifth round of their title fight despite Adesanya winning the fight on the judges’ scorecard. Losing the title in such a way, after a massively dominant run must have been disappointing for the Last Stylebender.
However, it seems as though Adesanya has taken this loss on the chin and is in no way discouraged by what is his third loss to Alex Pereira in combat sports. He carried himself with confidence and humility at the press conference. And now, in a clip released by the company from “UFC 281 The Thrill & Agony”, Israel Adesanya can be seen very composed right after the loss, in conversation with featherweight champ, Alexander Volkanovski.
He told Volkanovski about the end of the fight, “I was moving and I was like – ‘The f**k is happening?’ Like my foot kept on catching on the ground. When I was trying to move, so I could feel it.” Israel Adesanya was then joined in the locker room by his peers who all clapped for and reassured him in a heart-warming interaction.
By all accounts, the loss of his title has seemed to motivate Adesanya who looks very fired up. He recently revealed that he will not stop chasing the win against Pereira even if it meant chasing him into the favelas of Brazil. He also said he wanted a trilogy fight against Poatan in the UFC.
Israel Adesanya wants an immediate rematch against Alex Pereira
On the Flagrant podcast, with Andrew Schulz, Israel Adesanya revealed that he wanted all the smoke against Alex Pereira despite the crushing loss at UFC 281. Alex Pereira had earlier said that Adesanya would not want the rematch if he lost at UFC 281, and would be too scared to face him again.
However, when asked about this by Schulz, Adesanya said “I’m like, ‘F**k it, he doesn’t know me’. I will fight you until I beat you. I don’t give a f**k. I’ll be 60 and I will come to your favela and knock on your door with my walking stick and be like ‘You and me right now, we need to go’. That’s just me.”

He also said in that same podcast episode that people are underestimating Alexander Volkanovski against Islam Makhachev. Despite many people assuming and some even hoping for the former champ to be cowering after his loss, the opposite seems to have happened. In fact, Adesanya even revealed that he was more confident after this fight because of how much more he learned about his opponent during the fight.
