In 2025, Monday Night Raw is going to leave the traditional cable network to step into the world of streaming services. It was announced that Raw would be moving on to Netflix in January 2025. Now, a new update has arrived over the matter that suggests a huge role for The Rock in the $5 billion-worth deal.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that The Final Boss is going to be one of the major attractions featured on Raw on Netflix during the initial part of the deal. Also, it seemingly confirms the status of The People’s Champion for the road to WrestleMania next year after he vowed to return by then.
In addition to Rocky, John Cena himself confirmed that he is going to be on the first show of Raw on Netflix next year. Furthermore, WWE is also heavily promoting the move and has been advertising it as the next big thing in sports entertainment. Triple H called it a game-changing move that will transform the trajectory of WWE forever.
Without doubt, The Rock is a huge draw for WWE. His appearance on Netflix is not only going to benefit the streaming platform but WWE as well. He has already made it clear that he intends to challenge Cody Rhodes when he comes back. With the ongoing ‘Civil War’ among The Bloodline, it is going to be interesting to see where the interest of the Brahma Bull lies.
An update on Roman Reigns vs. The Rock at WrestleMania
Ever since The Rock returned to WWE earlier this year, there has been a group of fans that have been rooting for his match against Roman Reigns. The dream match between the two Samoans has been looming over the fans for ages. However, it has been constantly delayed. After the events of WrestleMania XL this year, WrestleMania 41 could be the place where the Final Boss will face the Tribal Chief once and for all.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has finally provided an update on this match. He has stated that it is possible that WWE might push this match to 2026. Meltzer added that there is a story with Solo Sikoa to be unfolded for the Head of the Table at the moment. In fact, Jacob Fatu is also there to push things forward. Therefore, it is possible that WWE might postpone a program between the Brahma Bull and the Needle Mover.
If what Meltzer said was true, that means WWE is going to move forward with the plan of the Great One vs. Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. Moreover, it has been rumored that WrestleMania 42 in 2026 might take place in London. Therefore, WWE might try to grab the international audience with this marquee match.
